“Peter the Great & all staff made stay extra special”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2014

After a long day of working at my parents' house in Maine, we couldn't stomach the full drive back home. We stumbled upon the Centennial and were thrilled to know it was a Hay Creek Property - as we had a wonderful stay at the Exeter Inn the night before. The Tues & Fri night desk clerk, Peter (who I now lovingly call Peter the Great) hooked us up with an amazing "turret" room at a great price and reserved us a wonderful table in the dining room. Peter is a true historian and we learned a lot about the property and the architecture. The room was outstanding!!! Spacious, beautifully appointed and with a large deck. The bed and bedding were super comfortable and we never heard a peep from the hallway all night. The food and drinks were outstanding as well, with much of the menu locally sourced. The staff of both the hotel and the restaurant were mature, attentive and professional. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely come back again.

Room Tip: We booked late in the day and were able to save about $40 off the advertised "lowest" rate...

Thank you so much for taking the time to write about your recent visit to the Centennial Hotel & Granite Restaurant & Bar. I am so thrilled to hear that you enjoyed every aspect of your stay and especially the service you received from "Peter the Great". Peter loves to tell our guests about the history of the hotel and you are correct, the area boasts of beautiful buildings that have amazing architecture. I always tell our guests to drive behind the hotel and down the back roads to see all of the beautiful homes. It is nice to have the hotel in a residential area so that guests can enjoy a walk or a run in a neighborhood setting. We really hope that you have a chance to come back and visit with us again soon.

We just came back from a one-night Easter getaway at the Centennial.
This hotel has incredible historic charm, but at the same time offers contemporary amenities. The staff is extremely personable and efficient. The rooms are very comfortable and wonderfully appointed. And the cost of a 1-nght stay at less than $150 made it a tremendous value. The Granite Restaurant in the hotel offers superb food and flawless service. Without a doubt this is finest hotel in central New Hampshire as well as one of the best in the whole state.

... we were thrilled to arrive and be greeted so kindly and warmly... We knew what we were walking in to, having made the reservations and doing our research based on the reviews. The location was perfect - as was everything else about our stay. The room was clean, comfortable, beds and linens amazing - and we completely enjoyed our stay The OVER-THE-TOP restaurant within the Hotel - the Granite Restaurant was beyond expectations. We are foodies - and LOVED the food - and ended up having both dinner and brunch the next morning. The staff in the restaurant are also a notch above.... making everything just perfect. Can't wait to find an excuse to stay again... LOVED.

Room Tip: though with nothing to compare it to - we stayed on the 3rd floor, facing a side street... it was qu...

The exterior of the building is fantastic however upon opening the doors I felt the space was missing the warm, luxurious furnishings the outside suggested. The lobby was, in my opinion, unwelcoming and cold as was the receptionist that checked me in. She wasn't rude at all just cold and aloof.
I entered my room and it was large, modern and spacious. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was very well appointed. The two most important things in any hotel room. I must say that robes and slippers were supplied which is always a nice touch but an in room coffee maker was not and an in room telephone was not. That is fine as fresh coffee is supplied in the morning at the front desk but the lack of a telephone was strange.
Breakfast was amazing! I had the sweet potato hash with smoked turkey and I was so pleased. The waitress Cheryl was special as well and very kind.
Overall it was a fine place to stay in a safe neighborhood with great food.

Thank you for taking the time to write about your visit to the Centennial. The hotel was renovated almost 8 years ago now. The owners had a vision to update the inside of the hotel to make it modern with unique amenities in order to "delight and surprise" our guests. I am really thrilled to hear that once you had a chance to experience the hotel, including dining in Granite Restaurant, that you really enjoyed your stay with us. We are in the process of upgrading the phone systems within the overnight rooms, the new phones are due in any day now. Thank you for taking the time to write about your visit and we look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

My friend and I stayed the night in The Governor's Suite and we couldn't have been more pleased. The suite was large. It was very clean. The staff was friendly. When we arrived there were these little lemon bars on the night stand that were absolutely delicious. Next time I'm in Concord this is definitely where I will be staying.

Room Tip: The Governor's Suite was awesome.

I stayed here a few months ago for a short business trip, and was pleased with the experience. Unlike the Victorian exterior (which is beautiful), the rooms are quite modern. The staff leaves small baked goods in the rooms at night, which is a nice touch. The location is conveniently close to the state buildings in Concord.

We stayed one night, mid week, to attend a concert at the Capitol Center for the Arts. The front desk was polite and helpful, the room very clean and beautifully decorated. The bed was a little hard, my only complaint. We didn't want to drive to the CCA, and it was close enough to walk but bitterly cold. We took a cab and it was only a $5 ride. Breakfast in the restaurant was delicious.
I would certainly recommend the Centennial Hotel and a very nice place to stay. We did not use all the amenities, but they have a gym, room service and a 5 star restaurant.

Room Tip: Next time we stay I want to try one of the Turret rooms!
