Holiday Inn - Concord Downtown

Being a professional traveler in the hospitality business, this location fit its need for the time being. Check in was pleasant and would make a quest feel comfortable. Overall rating would be fair only due to inspection of the room. Overall it was clean but did show wear and maintenance clearly was done by a handy man and not a professional in the field (paint spots in the carpet).

Room Tip: Inspect what you expect.

We arrived at the Holiday Inn Concord with a gift certificate for two nights.

It was an easy find, driving from Interstate 93. We arrived late afternoon on a Saturday, and parking was very nice, plenty of room for a large car. Front desk honored our special requests, and we had a great room on the 4th floor overlooking the Main Street and downtown. Check in went smoothly and the front desk women were extremely helpful.

The room included a King bed, nice furniture, an awesome 48 inch flat screen TV, a refrigerator and a microwave oven. The bathroom was especially nice with the granite counter top and granite surround (I want one at my house) in the shower. I loved the coconut lime lotions and shampoo from Bath and Body Works. Everything else in the room was well kept. We had a view of the Main street and the Capitol building.

The business center computer was slow. It worked fine for printing a map to get home. It is in a pleasant location, next to the registration counter and in a beautifully decorated lobby. It was good to have the free internet access.

There were two benches outside of the front door intended for smokers. I sat there one rainy evening taking to my friend by phone. It was a pleasant spot, with soft music from the hotel in the parking lot, and a great view of the capitol building.

The pool was warm and clean. Only down side was that there was rust.

We had the breakfast buffet. On the buffet, I liked the diced fresh fruit the best. There were meats, eggs, breads, sweet rolls and danish, cereals, yogurt, fried potatoes, juice and coffee all for $9.95. Be careful not to fall on the steps to the buffet! It was very difficult to see the light colored wooden steps that blended in with the same color floor below.

The location is especially wonderful if you are there to walk the picaresque streets of Concord and to enjoy that city's culture. Our vacation consisted of visiting local pubs and shops, and relaxing at the Holiday Inn. We loved it here.

The staff treated us kindly and we were very comfortable at this hotel. Thank you for a wonderful stay for our once in a lifetime opportunity to visit Concord!

And thank you Christie for taking my reservation by phone.

Two years in a row I have stayed at the Holiday Inn in downtown Concord while visiting a brother. It is clean, ideally located, with very helpful and friendly personnel at the front desk (Madison? and Emelie?).
As I spent most days and nights eating out or at my brother's house, I did not make use of the restaurant.
I paid a little extra for the bigger room with microwave and refrigerator and thought it was a good value for the money, especially when compared to the Boxborough (Mass) Holiday Inn I stayed in one night for a wedding while in the area that same week.

The pool and jacuzzi are clean and a nice amenity after a long day.

The only things I felt lacking was lighting in the bathroom (no light over the shower/bathtub) and the gym. The gym is crammed to an odd space overlooking the pool. It seems to be a design afterthought, where someone seemed to try to use some storage space as a gym. There a few aerobic machines and a rack of free weights, most of which were missing.

Besides the people at the front desk, the second best aspect is the location. Both routes 89 and 93 are very close (the latter closer than the former), where one can disappear into the mountains and lakes of New Hampshire or, alternately seek the day and night life of a thriving small city, Manchester NH, not too far away. The HI is on the main drag of Concord, itself a sleep capital city, with enough going to keep the average urban dweller content. Here you are within walking distance of the handful of pubs and bars downtown, as well as the playhouse.

Although this property could use an update, it is clean, comfortable, and convenient to a lot of things. In the heart of downtown and right on Main Street, dining options are plentiful. The property has a good resturant on site. The bed was very comfortable, better than average. I have no reservation in recommending it.

This hotels need a good big renovation. Carpet are very old and the overall feel is that holiday inn did not put money there.

The room was OK but the restroom was very small. People at the front desk where very welcoming.

I have a one night stay at the Holiday Inn Downtown Concord. I had a pleasant stay, with the room being clean, huge TV in the room, and internet service that allowed me to be productive answering emails of clients. Although I did not have much time to investigate my surroundings it appeared there were many amenities near this location.
