What a nice surprise! Old converted mill - retaining much of the character. Stayed for business but would come back for couple or family-time! Hotel is decorated beautifully but unpretentious. Quaint country comfortable chairs and couches scattered throughout. Coffee and hot chocolate available 24/7. The Fitness Center was just enough - clean and good selection of equipment. Restaurant and bar were great- no complaints about selection or quality. I stayed in the Stone Suite and it was the nicest hotel room I've ever been in. Upstairs-downstairs arrangement- two bathrooms, gas fireplace, looks out on the river. Nice sound a night- you can even open the double-hung style windows! Breakfast was a nice selection, coffee good. Generally quiet during the week in Winter.

Room Tip: Stay away from the street side rooms.

This Inn is built in an old mill situated on a river which formerly provided its power. The rooms are spacious clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. I was traveling alone on business but this is the type of spa hotel most wives or girlfriends would enjoy. The food was very good but a bit on the pricey side.

We used a groupon special to stay for two nights. Stayed in a standard room. Very comfortable and clean. Had a streetside room, I imagine the river side views were much nicer but this was fine. Breakfast was as billed, a continental. Good coffee. Could use a second waffle iron and toaster as the wait was long for both. Fresh fruit, pastries, cereal. More than adequate.

Two issues while we were. There. The door separating the lobby from the rooms was just outside our room. It shut very fast so felt like it kept being slammed. Fairly early crowd so not a problem after we went to sleep. On saturday we went to use the hot tub and it had no hast. Notified the desk clerk. Next morning he told us it got fixed later the evening before. If he had told us we would have had the opportunity to use.

Overall a great stay with a restaurant on the property and a couple of other places within walking distance. Inn lobby has a puzzle for guests, papers and games plus a small gift area. Brochures in rack were a bit out of date for some attractions and the copy of the menu for the on site restaurant in our room was the warm weather, not cool weather version but still gave us a good idea of what to expect.

Small refrigerator in room was a nice touch. Had to pull it all the way out of the enclosure to turn it on and had it too cold at first. There is also a small microwave and coffee service downstairs for guest use. Did not use the fitness center but it looked nice with high end cardio equipment.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view.

Skiing in the area and looking for something different. Stayed in a two-story suite just to see how they converted the old mill. Great service, nice atmosphere, and good character. Neat to have the river running through a couple of falls just outside the windows. The bed was best I remember in years of traveling. Almost made me late getting up.
Plenty of electric outlets, good array of furniture, and even a few old books on hand for a peruse.
Restaurant next door is convenient, really good quality, and a continuation of the rehabbed old mill theme.
Only downside is there isn't a lot to do within walking distance. Then again you can pay a lot for that same feature in other hotels. Great for a quiet break. On the other hand I91 is five miles away straight down the road, so you can get around easily.
The staff are very helpful, upbeat, and courteous.

Stayed in the Stone Suite with a friend who worked at the comman man resturant as a waitress in March of 2010. We went to dinner and then stayed the night. We loved the upstairs bar and our bed downstairs was comfy next to a fireplace. We also went into the indoor hottub.
