“Great Thanksgiving dinner at the Homestead Restaurant & Tavern”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 23, 2012

We enjoyed a wonderful meal on Thanksgiving Day! The service was excellent, all food was hot when served and cooked right. It was our first time not cooking at home for Thanksgiving dinner, so we were skeptic about how it would be for us. There were about 6 different menus to choose from at the reservation for dinner.

I highly recommend the Homestead Restaurant in Bristol, NH.

“Eat at the Homestead!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2012

We love the Homestead! The food is basic American comfort food served in a beautiful setting with gracious and helpful staff. We don't live far so we try to eat here regularly.
The seafood is always fresh and prepared nicely. I love the seafood casserole. It is one of the few restaurants around that still serve a dinner salad with the meal and complimentary crackers and dip before dinner. Special requests can be made without a hassle. They have some great specials that are true bargins all throughout the week. Sometimes we don't want a huge meal and we like that the pub menu is available in the dining room too.
Over the years we have been to many special functions: weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, retirement parties and the like. These guys/gals do a great job and you couldn't ask for better.

“Delightful dinner in October 2012”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2012

My husband and I stayed in the Inn on Golden Pond in Holderness, NH (read my review on this as well) for several days in October. While there we asked the innkeepers to recommend their favorite restaurants in the area and they gave us this restaurant as being in their Top 3 in the area.

We went on a Sunday night. We were greeted by a very nice hostess that took us to a room where there was a fireplace. Our server, a young gentleman, sorry I forget your name, was very knowledgeable of the menu and very friendly and attentive. We both ordered the the petite filiet mignon for dinner. We were served fresh salads along with delicious homemade breads to start with. The when dinner was server the filet mignons were cooked just as we requested it to a perfect medium rare. We enjoyed every bite. After dinner we shared a dessert that was like an apple crumb tart which was also delicious.

If we pass through this area again and I hope to, we will go back for another yummy meal.

This restaurant also has a Tavern section with lighter and less expensive dishes. I would have liked to try this too. They have a website that provides detailed menus.

“Great food in nice atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2012

The Homestead is one of our local favorites. The food is very good, fresh and served just the way we like it. Seafood is my choice almost every time, but I had the half portion of ribs last night. They were so good - fell right off the bone just like they advertise! Not fatty at all. My husband's petite filet was excellent, too. We enjoyed sitting near the REAL fire and sometimes ask to be seated in one of their smaller, more intimate rooms for a special occasion. We really enjoy The Homestead and know you will, too.

“Definitely the Place to Eat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2012

Our family had a great experience at dinner. First, the host was very, sincerely personal. Restaurant is fairly large with several rooms, each with an individual feel. Ours had a fire place.
Our waiter was very good and interested. Service was all you could wish.
The menu has an unbelievable selection, and everything we had was prepared well. Soups and salads were all good.
The wine list had a good variety of choices and prices. Jack on the rocks was generous and in appropriate glasses.
