“$500 chimney view.”
Reviewed May 3, 2014 via mobile

We booked two nights at the hotel for our 10 year anniversary. A deluxe room, supposedly with a view of the mountains. Over $500 for just the 2 nights (not to mention the $25/night mandatory charge so you can use wifi and the pool.) Room was fine but we ended up with a "chimney view" and weren't able to switch. So for all that money, and for our anniversary, we could have stayed across the street at a motel, and had a better view. Also, events being hosted all the time means a really busy lobby/public area, so you can't really enjoy that during the day. I guess unless you can afford one room up (this isn't even the cheapest room!), which would have run almost $900 for 2 nights, don't stay here. Or at least call beforehand and make sure a chimney isn't blocking your very expensive mountain view.

We had a beautiful time and really enjoyed the view and serenity. The hotel has such a wonderful history, everyone should experience at least once, it is really nice to see a place that was created from the American spirit of the time when this country was creating things of such beauty, and to see this great hotel preserved like it is.

I had a magical stay at Omni Mt. Washington Resort. As soon as you walk into the lobby you're transported to a more gracious period of time. The staff are absolutely wonderful and cater to your every whim. The resort is breath taking beautiful. views of Mt. Washington is awesome. The guest rooms are lovely and beautifully appointed. They have many amenities for all different interest. I have traveled all over the world and I have to say that this was one of my special stays.

We absolutely love the Mt. Washington Resort and Arms Inn in Bretton Woods. We have made it a family tradition with friends to come every winter for skiing and snow play. We have two young kids and the resort is set up really perfectly for this.

First, the rooms. We have stayed at the Arms Inn and at the resort and both are really nice. The rooms are spacious, super clean and have all the amenities you need. You can also call to request for things like a fridge, coffee maker and crib if you need one at no extra charge. The bathroom is also very clean and the showers have good pressure with nice scented soaps and shampoos. We requested a room far away from the elevators and they honored the request so we got one near the end of the hall way which was super quiet. The beds are of very high quality, super comfortable pillows, mattresses and comforters. We got a room with two queen sized beds and slept extremely well for 4 nights (with a 3 yr old and infant).

The staff is extremely friendly and efficient. They weren't intrusive but was watchful of our needs. In particular, the entire staff throughout the hotel were just wonderful with the kids. They had stickers ready, enterntainment kits at mealtime, special cups, etc. We felt it was very safe and let the kids run around the lobby quite comfortably.

What I love most about the resort is that everything is contained within the hotel. It's a beautiful old building (rooms have been renovated). It's very grand with high ceilings and a beautiful lobby but they have managed to make it extremely cozy feeling. It's great how there are three places to eat within the building, a full spa (it's amazing!) and an indoor pool/exercise area. There are loads of things to keep young children entertained.

The restaurants within the hotel have good quality food and a good selection. Stickney's is a nice casual place but book ahead, during the busy season it is always full for dinner. If that is full, you can book in the main dining room. It appears quite formal at first (they require jacket, no jeans, etc.) however once you dine there you see the atmosphere is elegant but relaxed. The food is very good here (better than Stickney's) and they are very kid friendly. The nice thing of the main dining room is they have live music and a dance floor in the middle that is great for kids. And the staff doesn't seem to mind having kids dancing under foot - which is great for the parents to sit back and enjoy a glass of wine. A personal favorite is there breakfast spread. It's not cheap price wise, but very cozy with a nice selection of hot and cold breakfast buffet.

The Spa within the resort is also wonderful. It's beautifully done and OH SO relaxing. They have a separate ladies and gentlemen's lounge, outdoor whirlpool, steam room, sauna, great showers and really high quality treatments. It's extremely clean and very very relaxing. The staff is professional and very nice.

Lastly, there are a ton of things to do outdoors for kids of all ages and adults. The skiing is great and for young kids starting to learn to ski, there is a very good bunny slope. Within walking distance of the resort there are also dog sled rides (kids can go out visit the dogs who are very gentle and friendly), a barn with horses and sleigh rides, and a lot of trails behind the hotel where you can for scenic walks or go cross country skiing on.

Best of all, once you arrive you can choose to do everything by complimentary shuttle and leave your car in the lot. If you choose to use your car, the valet service is top notch. In the winter, they will spend the time to de-ice, de-frost and warm up the car for you before bringing it to you. It's a very nice plus.

All in all, this resort is a very special place and while we have never been for the summer, we believe it has just as much to offer then as the winter. Highly recommended and book early!

We went here because of a convention; but felt like we were respected and cared for. This is an excellent location to relax and enjoy everything offered. We felt as though we were treated like royalty from the moment we drove up to the resort until we drove away.
