We had a blast everyday we were at the resort. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The package we had allowed us to eat dinner at any one of the resort dining rooms ..the Bretton Wood Arms was our most favorite!!! The room was small but nice with a great view, we spent very very little time in our room as there were too many amazing things to do so we did not mind at all. The dog sledding, horse sleigh ride, tubing, skating, swimming, skiing were all so very fun and will definitely will go back again very soon!

If you want to indulge yourself, go to the Mount Washington Hotel. It's expensive, but worth it for a special occasion. The hotel ambiance is marvelous - you'll enjoy sitting in the opulent, but comfortable, grand hall at the lobby for drinks and conversation with fellow travelers. The restaurants and meals are outstanding - from pub fare to exquisite gourmet service. The staff are attentive, very pleasant, and will go above to make your stay enjoyable. Be aware, however, that while the rooms are gorgeous, they are on the small side, so don't sit in your room - get out and enjoy the grounds, the public areas, and the fresh mountain air!

Beautiful location, but the hotel needs major updating. Cracked door allowed people to see in the room, cracked tile in shower, ancient radiator very noisy, poor windows caused much noise at night. I realize it is an old place, but that does not justify drafty windows, stained ceilings, bad tile in the shower, horrible bed and a clock that did not illuminate. Not when you are spending $500/night. Food was good, service was fine, but not what I would consider to be luxury level. A beautiful old building, but should probably be closed for year or 2 for a total renovation. We spent $2000 for a 2 night stay, including food and spa. I expected a lot more.

We have stayed at this resort many times in the past but not since it has become an Omni hotel. The setting of this resort is spectacular with beautiful views of Mount Washington and the Bretton Woods ski area. The amenities are fabulous--shuttle service to ski area, great spa (with year round heated outdoor pool), indoor pool, fitness center, and several delicious dining venues. The rooms are beautifully appointed with luscious linens, towels, draperies, throw pillows. The complimentary delivery of morning beverages with the MAP plan was much appreciated.

The interior architectural detail of this hotel is spectacular with stained glass, plaster scrollwork, columns, elegant porches, and wide staircases. The vintage elevator staffed by helpful gentlemen takes you back in time.

Some criticisms: The lobby and the sun porch do not have enough furniture. We were there over a holiday weekend and it was hard to find a place for our group to gather. Before the Omni owned this there were many more cozy sofa/easy chair areas in the lobby and the sun porch was filled with white wicker furniture. Now the sun porch is so sparsely furnished that kids use it as a gymnasium (very loud) and the few upholstered pieces of furniture are sagging from use. This hotel is now breathtakingly expensive, so it is a nice treat every few years.

Room Tip: One of our rooms was on the fourth floor in a turret and the window sills were 5' off the ground. It was hard to appreciate the view.
