Did the ski and stay deal through the hotels website. Had a wonderful day of skiing and a great evening of fun at the hotel to follow. Plenty of dining options, comfortable rooms, top notch service. Looking forward to doing the same trip next year.

We opted for a luxury deluxe room. The room was 1000 square feet. There was a large attractive living room and an awkward shaped bedroom. The views were breathtaking. It was October and because it is an old hotel, there was no working air conditioning. It was impossible to get the windows open and maintenance had to come to open the windows. There were dead bugs in all the window. Due to the shape of the bedroom, there was little air flow and the room was stuffy. The rooms were clean, but not spotless. Repeated calls to housekeeping were required

There were two doors to the hallway; One from the bedroom and one from the living room. The doors were not soundproof and you could hear everyone walking and talking in the halls. It was very noisy.

My husband was not feeling well and it was almost impossible to find a simple chicken broth. I found it very difficult to get anyone to help me get some soup. I really thought that customer service was lacking. Furthermore, the menus were generally very unhealthy. Most of the food on the various menus were creamy, rich and unhealthy. They really need to have a farm to table type of restaurant.

On the upside, I thought the spa and the service there was wonderful.

I thought that though the property was lovely, the hotel was not up to par with respect to service, food and the quality of the rooms.

Room Tip: A room with a view is a must...that is the best feature of the hotel.

The Mt. Washington Hotel sits at the base of Mt. Washington, NH. The highest peak in the northeast. It is a lovely historic hotel. Historic is the key word here. It is not a modern, new hotel. The hotel is over a hundred years old and while the rooms have been refurbished, the rooms are the same size as they would have been back in the day so be prepared. I happen to love the coziness of the hotel and grandeur of the hotel. The grounds are beautiful covered in snow as is the view of the mountains. The hotel has a package which includes lift tickets to Bretton Woods Ski area, the hotel room and breakfast. The value is hard to beat. This is our second year here on a Sunday - Thursday visit. Today (Monday), there was no lift lines anywhere. In fact, a couple of times I was the only one on the trail. The only downside is that there isn't much around the hotel/ski area. There is one restaurant off the hotel grounds - all others are on premise - which isn't bad - but can be a little pricey. It is quite romantic with the huge fireplaces and beautiful landscape.

Room Tip: Check the size of the room when booking. There are some larger than others but you may compromise t...

Recently returned from a family vacation to Bretton Woods, NH. We really enjoyed our stay at the Omni Mount Washington. The positives were the delightful and accomodating staff, the corner view room with fireplace, and the views. All activities were essentially on site or a short shuttle ride away. Our family participated in the dog sledding, tubing, sleigh ride and day long snowboarding school. All activities were very enjoyable though pricey (about $100 for a 20 minute dog sledding ride though this was the highlight of our trip). The only criticism I have is the food. For breakfast we ate at the dining room and all that was available was a buffet. We are not big eaters and spent a lot of money each day on breakfast relative to what we consumed. In addition, I highly advise you pre-book your dinners. I attempted to make reservations at the nearby Bretton Arms while there and they were booked. The four diamond dining for dinner at the Dining Room was subpar in terms of service and food quality.
Overall, I would highly recommend this as a family trip and great place to stay. Just bring your wallet!

Room Tip: I recommend upgrading to a corner room with mountain view and ask for one with a fireplace.

Three couples spent a lovely weekend at the Omni Mt. Washing Resort celebrating the New Year. There were so many adventures available to us that one skiied Bretton Woods, two cross-country skiied the beautiful grounds, one snow shoed, and I (lucky me) spent the day in the spa getting the most relaxing massage and pampering I much needed. We also took a sleigh ride and had a tour of the lovely old Inn and learned about the ghost of the previous owner (friendly!) We had delicious meals and very comfortable rooms and service. The fireworks were stupendous on New Year's Eve! The only downside was that the entertainment for the formal dinner evening was very staid and the upstairs family entertainment was raucous so we adjourned to our rooms and celebrated with champagne and good friends! Overall, a grand time.

This is my second visit to this grande, old property and not my last. Last year with my husband and our grown children. This visit with my sisters. The staff is professional, friendly and very helpful. The property is beautiful. (Yes, the radiators may make noise. The doors slamming in the halls can be irritating but hey, it's an old hotel.)

Our first night we took the hotel shuttle two minutes away to sit by an outside fire for an old fashioned sleigh ride - bells and all. Bright and early the next morning zip lining, something I would recommend to anyone who is moderately active. Nothing like flying above the trees in 9 degrees to get your heart pumping. Then off to the spa. This is one of my favorite spas. An outside, coed jacuzzi and a relaxation room where you can draw the drapes and drift off between appointments. (They'll even cover you with a blanket and turn off the light if you are lucky enough to fall asleep.)

One of the most fabulous things I've ever done anywhere... dog sledding!!! Thank you Muddy Paw Sled Dog Kennel. They bring the dogs to the property and if you're an animal lover, it's fabulous!

The Dining Room was beautiful and the food delicious. There was even an orchestra and singer. Dennis, the Dining Room Manager will do everything he can to accommodate your seating request. But be sure to stop in early though as it can get crowded.

My only suggestion would be to mix up the menu at Stickney's a bit as its the only place to have lunch without leaving the building and can get tedious if you eat more than two meals there. And make sure you make reservations or you'll have to wait and its a small bar. We left the property one night and had a wonderful dinner at a very casual, family run restaurant, called Rosa Flamingo's. It's about 20 minutes away but a straight shot and well worth it.

And a special thanks to Katy, one of the concierges who helped us with all the planning and my many calls! Will definitely be back!

Room Tip: We had adjoining rooms - a huge double queen and a small king. Rooms 414 & 416.

If you like country surroundings with great views of Mt. Washington, then you'll love this place.

We stayed over the weekend as a ski group and everyone loved it. There was a mix up where they were assigning two women to a room with one queen bed. That was quickly fixed.

The rooms in the hotel has gone through some major renovations so they are in tip top shape. Even the door locks are state of the art.

It is the type of hotel where you slumber around in. It is definitely not a one night stay hotel. Tie and jackets are required for dinner in the main dinning room. The food is good. There is a casual restaurant in the lower level. We ate there and thought it was good.

I would have given it a 5 rating but we had a fire alarm go off in the middle of the night. There seem to be no staff member(s) directing people we when go to the lobby. Everyone figured out for themselves what to do and when to go back to their rooms. Rumor has is that someone was smoking and set off an alarm. At least this wooden structure is safe because I'm told it has the state of the art alarm system. The alarm system was very loud.

We will go back again and so will everyone else in our group will too.

Room Tip: This is a very old hotel. Rooms tend to be small in an old hotel. A traditional queen room means t...
