“Poor service. Pedestrian food. Beautiful setting”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

It's a beautiful room in a beautiful setting. The food and service are poor.
Service is diffident at best. The hostess was extremely slow, with people backed up down the corridor. The wait staff was inattentive. Multiple times we needed to track down a server to get a refill on juice or coffee.
The buffet chafing dishes were slow to be refreshed.
Food was pedestrian. The buffet breakfast is good food. The dinner buffet is disappointing. Nothing special or especially tasty. This is a buffet you can find in many places.
The change in the dress code to resort casual has made this a much less inviting atmosphere. Our experience was as if we were dining at the Grill Room at the golf course. Unfortunately, we were expecting much better.
We will select other options in the future.

“Lovely Setting, Historic building”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

A great place for regional conference. Rooms/beds are comfortable. Main Dining room is a reservation only event that requires proper attire. Pub and bar are casual with outdoor seating in summer. You can sit on the porches and they will come and deliver beverages or food all afternoon if you choose. This is one of the last old hotels from years gone by...it is one of those places you should experience at least once.

“Dynamite appetizer on a beautiful porch with a great mountain view”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

3 of us decided to share an appetizer tray that turned out to be not only very generous but beautifully presented in a gorgous setting while sipping on wine and ginger beer as we marvelled at the incredible view on a huge porch that wraps around the resort.
We couldn't even finish the appetizer (cheeses, cold cuts, prosciutto, sliced baguette, olives, etc.) ... in fact, we skipped the dinner we had planned and settled for a salad.
The service was a bit slow but the yound lady had to take care of a lot of people, especially since there was also a wedding taking place.

“Golden sash dinner is only good if you give chef a theme days before the dinner”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

We have reservations for a Golden Sash Dinner this week on August 22 for our anniversary, but we are frustrated because the Chef has not yet contacted us to plan the theme for that dinner! In August 2011 when the chef did not contact us until the morning of our Golden Sash Dinner it was underwhelming. We were served dishes we could have ordered off the menu without paying extra for a Golden Sash Dinner.
In August 2012 the Sous Chef contacted us two weeks before the dinner, we exchanged emails and phone calls, and the dinner was delicious, exciting and memorable.

This year, we have been calling to be sure the chef contacts us since Sunday August 11. Still no word from the Chef and at this moment we are expecting to be underwhelmed! Since I believe the squeaky wheel gets the grease I will be calling twice a day until our arrival. Frankly, for the money we are paying for a Golden Sash Dinner we should not have to work this hard to have a memorable experience!

“It's now a circus”
Reviewed August 18, 2013 via mobile

We have been aspiring to this restaurant for its classic formal dining for years. We drive hundreds if miles to have dinner here. They (the management group) has murdered it with the injection of a buffet (they call it action stations - must be because there's so much action trying to get something edible!)

Service: imported and untrained.

Food: warm to cold for things like prime rib, fish, pork - also DRY.

Even basics were poor - Peligrino served warm, white wine I had to help waitress open it. Never cleared our plates. Dirty trays everywhere.

Don't waste your time - they need to fix this: it's now like a bad $9.95 buffet at Treasure Island Casino in Vegas.
