“Nice old style hotel ,but terrible golf course”
Reviewed June 25, 2014

We were there in june 2014. The hotel is very beautifl with nice surroundings facing Mount Washington. The hotel was renovated not long ago and the inside looks nearly as it was 118 years ago. Nice furnishings and they even kept the original elevator with one guy running it as in the old times. The rooms are nicely decorated with a vast washroom. As the structure is in wood, you do here the guy upstairs walking; but it did not bothered me.
We had a marvelous breakfast (costly at 64.00 for 2). However price of food in the Stickney pub is over-priced for what you eat. And not that great food for my taste.
One last thing: the golf course is a pity: greens as well as fairways (june 2014). First time I have played there; surely the last.

“Check this out!”
Reviewed June 9, 2014

During a stay at the Mount Washington Hotel, we discovered "The Cave" on the bottom floor of the hotel. According to signage, the Cave was a speakeasy during prohibition. The hallway entrance to the Cave is carved out of stone (granite?) and leads down into a bar/club. There are some pictures and signs inside with details on the origin but its definitely worth a stop by. They open at night and serve a small appetizer type menu and drinks. One side is a bar and it is separated from the main room with barred doors and windows. The other side has a stage and features live music. Try the "prohibition punch", listen to some tunes and soak in the wild atmosphere of the place.

“Confusion, confusion...”
Reviewed May 10, 2014 via mobile

This place is an attraction in itself : treat yourself!
But, don't just transit like we did : these folks don't like late arrivals in the kitchen and you'd better get up early to catch breakfast! We got conflicting information about the breakfast schedule and were treated rudely by the main dinning room manager. This dude should be disciplined, as well as front desk for its confusing information. Such attitude is unacceptable. Be warned!
But the young man in the coffee shop downstairs went out of his way to resolve the issue. That was exemplary service and he should be promoted to the head of this joint. Period.

“Challenging course”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

I played several times this summer. The course was in great shape and I enjoyed the challenge. Great views of the surrounding mountains.
