Had dinner at Stickney's the mid-level dining experience at Breton Woods Omni Mount Washington Hotel. The food is decent but not outstanding. The tomato bisque was good but the clam chowder average at best. The salmon salad was nice but we had trouble obtaining a filet mignon medium rare. The steak was ordered medium rare but came well done. Not even close. This was pointed out to the waiter who agreed that an error was made. Finally the replacement came that was rare. We gave up. The quality of the steak was very good. No attempt to compensate us for the error and the 25 minute wait except a verbal apology. At the high price of meals at Stickney's, we felt an offer to pay for a glass of wine would have been appropriate.

We were greeted courteously. We had roast chicken which was very dry and plain. That was with smashed potatoes which were full of pepper chunks. We also had fish and chips were average. For our water we had no idea we were going to be charged $8.00 each. Should have ordered tap water yikes. Then we went felt rushed out. Never going back.

The best reason to come to Stickney's is the fabulous view of Mt. Washington. The food is average hotel fare. The service was a bit automated and if you had the wrong table, you could also have a view of dirty dishes at the bus stations. A side of homemade potato chips was served with our lunch---they were quite greasy and cold.

The room was very noisy- poor acoustics. It was hard to get ahold of a server and they practically pulled the plate away from my dad while he was taking his last bit. For the priced they are charging it should be better. I will say our food was good and the view is lovely. However, you can get the same view with a more intimate room if you dine upstairs.

Visiting friends and I went to see the beautiful Mt. Washington Resort in Bretton Woods. After touring the hotel & its fabulous history, we had lunch in their newest restaurant, Stickney's. Patio dining in good weather is spectacular with views to the world famous Mt. Washington & the Presidential Range. Our waiter was attentive, knew his menu and made excellent recommendations when I was torn between two entrees. His wine knowledge was also excellent. The food was served without a long waiting period, it was hot and freshly prepared.

I recommend this dining experience to everyone who visits the White Mountains.
