After reading many reviews before going on our fall foliage trip and from smart travel describing
that this was a world famous cog railway up Mt. Washington over 6,000 feet at summit, we decided to take this train ride. At $64. for adult and $59 for senior is indeed very costly. Beware that they charge $2 internet fee yet not able to print own tickets. We went up on a lovely day, sunny, calm, temp in the 60's. We could not hear the conductor/brakeman's narration/talk because of noise and poor audio system especially coming down the mountain, the brakeman was facing front and talking with his back towards us. On the way up, we saw rocks and more rocks and coming down same vegetation again & again but no fall foliage color in sight. It was a different experience having not been in cog train before, other than that we did not feel it was money well spent.
