We absolutely loved our trip on the Cog Railway. We were very lucky that it was a beautiful day: warm, clear and with great visibility, and the leaves were just starting to peak. Our Brakemen were funny and informative, and we found we had plenty of time at the top to enjoy the food and get snacks. Loved that we could post our postcards from the summit as well!

Yes it's expensive. But it was an incredible and unforgettable experience, with stunning views. For us, it was more than worth the cost, and I'd highly recommend, if the weather is right. It is far better than some of the reviews suggest.

Thank Alexandra M

We visited on October 12 as part of a coach party frrom the UK. We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the train and the views - watch out of you have problems with heights/open spaces though as there are a couple of times when there is nothing but sky out of the windows on one side, scary if that sort of things affects you. All you need to do is look towards the mountainside though, and all will be fine. The views from the top are breathtaking. There was, unusually so I am told, no wind when we went up so we got to the summit and had an hour to take great photos, grab a coffee & muffin and visit the restroom, as the Americans call it.

The views are spectacular and well worth the journey up there. The staff are great and the 'engine driver' is very entertaining - even if you can't hear every word he says! lol.

Thank you for visiting the railway and posting a review. I am glad you found your time with us enjoyable. As of this season (2012) we have equipped all coaches with GPS guided audio tours and each brakeman now has a wireless microphone enabling him to be heard plainly by all passengers regardless of where they sit in the passenger coach. It is reviews like yours which enable us to make the decisions necessary to continue to improve our product.

Even though the weather was bad, we had a great time going up to the Mt. Washington summit via the Cog railway. It was an amazing ride with beautiful views.

Thank you for patronizing our property. If you enjoy train rides you will find the railway a great adventure rain or shine. Many folks also enjoy the inclement weather. It makes them understand why the indians called Mt. Washington Agiocochook (abode of the great spirit).
