“Romantic and Relaxing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 11, 2013

My husband and I recently stayed here after purchasing a Living Social deal. It was for 2 nights and a sleigh ride. Unfortunately, the sleigh ride was cancelled due to lack of snow but the innkeeper (Leslie) had arranged for ice skating nearby in place of the sleigh ride. We arrived on the later side on Friday night and Leslie was very helpful and friendly and got us checked in and right in to our room. We had ordered the cookies and milk package which was waiting for us in our room along with our bottle of wine and it was a very nice touch! The room was very clean and comfortable and we immediately settled in for the night. Breakfast both days was absolutely FANTASTIC! I wish I could come there just for the breakfast. Then on Saturday night there were appetizers and cocktails in the bar which was a really nice touch. It was really nice to sit there and chat with the other guests while having a cocktail and some delicious appetizers. Even Leslie sat down and chatted with us, it was great! It was also nice to hear some history about the beautiful inn.

For those of us that cant seem to rip ourselves away from technology, please note, there is absolutely no cell reception at the inn. There is wi-fi and I saw a few people using the phone at the front desk but dont count on making calls on your cell phone. It is in the middle of no where and there really is no reception.

Overall, this place was fantastic and we look forward to going back in the spring/summer to see the grounds in bloom.

Room Tip: I think I would be happy with absolutely any room in the house! We were able to peek in a few and t...

Thank you for your kind review! One of the best aspects of being an innkeeper is making (or breaking) a guest's experience. The second is being able to interact with guests and get to know them personally. Some of our best friends started out as guests. The staff and I look forward to having you both back during the summer months to see all that the Sunapee area has to offer.

First, the rooms at the inn were absolutely exceptional-the fireplace, jacuzzi tub, spectacular decor and more. Unfortunately, there was a private party booked on Sat. night that we did know about. I became aware when I heard another guest ask a question of the waitress. We had been told that if by chance there were no parking available in the usual spot, there was parking on the other side of a shed, but no mention of the party. We arrived back from our day and found no parking for us except the side of a country road where our car stayed all night. The reviews I read talked very highly of the breakfast, we were disappointed by the lack of any alternative to the preplanned menu. (we would have liked a choice of maybe cereal, oatmeal or toast). We did meet one of the owners briefly. Also while I realize it may be difficult to find employees in this area, I was not expecting wait staff dressed in jeans and casual shirts. I will say the person we met on our arrival was very pleasant, courtesy and knowledgeable(I think Martha was her name?). We were sorry no to have seen her again. Perhaps another time our visit might have been different.

Room Tip: There is really no bad rooms. We were in the best room in the inn and it was exceptional (Dream make...

We stay at many B&Bs over the past ten years and this is one of our favorites! My choice of the rooms is the Thomas Jefferson Room, which is bright and sunny during the day, and has a gas fireplace in the room wih a bah that includes a two person jacuzzi and a shower as well! Breakfast is always delicious and if you can stay midweek you may find a bargain rate. It is essenially in the middle of very rural NH so shopping ec.is not a practical opion. Come for the peace and quiet (and wi-fi). A couple of nights they have complimentary hors douvres in the small intimate bar, and sociale among he other guests if you desire.

Room Tip: Thomas Jefferson Room is our favorite!

My cousin Sally from Key West Fl. and I went to The World Quilt Show in Manchester, but we stayed at The Rosewood Country Inn. It is always a Pleasure to stay there. The inn is a place to go relax and enjoy the Peace and Tranquility. Enjoy the Fantastic Breakfast in the morning and visit the Restaurants in the area. Leslie and Dick are wonderful innkeepers, and their staff is GREAT!! We have been going there for years and would never change. One of the other things that they do is to offer you snaks in a butler closet and the proceeds go to feed the Deer that you see in their back yard. You can Just relax on the Veranda or take a ride on the Bicycle built for two. LOL GREAT PLACE !

Room Tip: I have stayed in many rooms there, My favorite is Douglas Fairbanks Suite

After staying here two years ago we had the chance to stay here again this past weekend. There are great complimentary hors douvres on Friday evenings and it is a good chance to mingle with other guests over a drink. As usual our room with a jacuzzi was spotless and there was a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us. We had originally ordered the picnic for Friday night, but had a change of plans and Leslie was very good about postponing it until Saturday morning even though she was in the middle of preparing for a wedding. The picnic basket just made the weekend it was so elegant. In a large wicker basket lined with red and white checked cloth was a bottle of wind with wine cozy to keep it cold, two wine glasses, red cloth napkins and silver ware, two stem glass servers with shrimp 5 large shrimp hanging over the side and garnished with lettuce and a container of cocktail sauce, a glass bowl of potato salad, two glass plates with chicken salad in a crossaint with lettuce and pineapple garnish, a bowl or marionated mushrooms, and a plate of strawberries and minature cream puffs for desert. She also included a red and white checked table cloth. After a visit to the "Fells" gardens we went to Lake Sunapee and had our very elegant picnic lunch. We spread everything out on a picnic bench and just enjoyed the sunny afternoon. Leslie and the staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful making sure our stay was perfect. Breakfast at the Inn is also a feast, not to be missed. While not inexpensive, it is such a wonderful romantic and peaceful place to stay with beautiful grounds, pond with waterfall and gardens it is worth every penny. A little bit out of the way, but it is the place to stay if you just want to relax and get away from the world.

Room Tip: The rooms with a jacuzzi are very romantic and the bathroom is huge, double sinks and seperate showe...

Lovely property nicely managed. Always a pleasure to deal with people who are good at what they do. The dining recommendations were totally appropriate and accurate, room was ideal, etc. It's rural, lovely, and well done. What more needs to be said.

Room Tip: Jacuzzi suite was a nice touch.
