“This place doesn't even seem real...”
Reviewed March 1, 2011

I loved it here. I found this place and planned a secret weekend getaway for my boyfriend as a Christmas present. We stayed Saturday night and Sunday night in the Wild Turkey Suite. As soon as I saw the lodge while driving up the beautiful driveway, I thought "this place does not even look real." Mike greeted us at the door and told us to take off our shoes, which was AWESOME. Taking off our shoes and wandering around a log cabin in our socks made us feel right at home. That was the first of many thoughtful and hospitable touches. The Wild Turkey Suite is everything everyone says it is. Spacious, private, quiet, homey, and incredibly comfortable. The bed is hands down the nicest bed I have ever slept on. The bathroom was beautiful, and my favorite little touch was the dark face cloth to wash off makeup! Very thoughtful!! The breakfasts were out of this world delicious. We did the snowshoe trek, which was really, really fun and totally worth it. After the snowshoeing we got to meet their dogs, which made my night because I was missing my two at home. Sunday night we were the only couple there and it was just as quiet as it had been when they were full on Saturday night. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. It was an epic trip, it was an amazing weekend, and it was worth every penny. We will definitely be back (though I don't know how we could stay in any other room at this point :-)

We have just returned from four nights at the Bear Mountain Lodge. It was frigid outside, but warm and cozy inside. Attention to detail in this inn is impeccable. As we told our hosts Mike and Carol, the only problem with the inn was that it was not our own!

We loved staying at Bear Mountain Lodge during our ski vacation at the nearby Bretton Woods resort. The log cabin design of the lodge is very nicely executed and meticulously maintained. The heated wood floors are great. The breakfasts are highly recommended (yum, challah french toast!) and accompanied by freshly squeezed juices and very good coffee. Will stay here again for certain.

What a beautiful log home B&B that Mike & Carol have built and have opened for others to enjoy. With spectacular views of Mt. Washington nestled on 23 acres in Bethlehem and just a short drive to Littleton.

We stayed in the Cowboy Roundup room which was very spacious, welcoming, and oh so comfortable bed ... caution you'll want to sleep in and miss the breakfast served 8:30am-9:30am .... but don't, each breakfast was unique and very delicious.

Great escape from the fast pace life!

It's obvious Mike really enjoys being your host and is very knowledgeable about the area and helpful with assisting making arrangements for dinner and other activities. It's a rare find these days to receive such great hospitality, thanks Mike and Carol.

Went here for 2 nights with my boyfriend for a nice place to relax and get away. We are in our 20s so we were worried B&Bs might be too old fashioned for us but we found Bear Mountain Lodge and just couldn't say no to booking a stay. This place is BEAUTIFUL. The views are out of this world, and the hosts Mike and Carol are the nicest people around. The craftsmanship of the entire place is enough to keep your eyes wandering. The no shoes policy is just what you need to feel at home. Everyone gets to walk around in their socks! The floorboards are heated so no cold feet either! We stayed in the Call of the Loon room, and let me tell you... steam shower is the way to go. Just what you need to totally relax at the end of the day. The linens on the bed are top of the line. I haven't slept so comfortably when staying away from home EVER. The morning breakfast is delicious, and the homemade cookies in the afternoon are very addicting! They even have 2 dogs which they usually keep on their side of the lodge, but knowing how much I adore dogs, he let me visit with them and watch them run around outside in the snow. So cute! I know without a doubt, when heading up north, we will stay here, and only here. Already planned our trip this fall!

The location and view of Mt Washington is fabulous. You can see the mountain from most rooms and especially the great room. The sleep quality was exceptional - a rare find when you stay away from home. The breakfast was a delicious surprise each morning. The inn keepers were fun!

We had the most magical and wonderful stay. It was truly a winter wonderland in the mountains that combined a rustic aesthetic with all the comforts of a resort. The snowshoe hike at night and fireworks on New Year's Eve were the icing on the cake. And speaking of cake, the food was incredible!
