The best service! We were greeted at the front door and after a brief tour of this amazing log cabin style lodge we were served freshly baked warm cookies. The experience continued when we entered our room. The Cowboy room was accented perfectly and the steam shower was a welcome relief. The quality of the bed and bedding was excellent and helped to recharge our batteries. The quality of the 3 course homemade breakfast was only surpassed by the views of Mt. Washington from the table. This was a Inn in every sense where you could choose to talk for hours by the fire with other guests or take advantage of activities like snow shoeing where you can feel alone within minutes.
Restaurants were a bit tougher to select but once we found Cold Mt. Cafe http://www.coldmountaincafe.com/ where the black bean cake sounded a bit too "grateful dead" for this carniviore but after stealing bites from my better half I realized how wrong I was. The pizza and beer was also great at Italian Oasis Restaurant in the next town over, Littleton. The "More Dam Beer" was crisp and light. Left plenty of room for the Green Pizza. Go, enjoy, relax or go relax and ski, snow shoe, snow mobile........ Strongly recommend. The highest rating possible

The Bear Mountain Lodge was the ideal place to stay for our "get away weekend." We were in the area for a wedding at a large resort nearby and wanted a quiet place to relax, get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy nature. We found everything we were looking for at this idyllic lodge. Our hosts', Michael and Carols', attention to detail was evident in every corner. The rooms were warm, cozy and spotless. The wood stove was a perfect place to relax before turning in for the night. And the breakfasts were scrumptious. Our visit was in the winter but we hope to visit again and experience this beautiful spot in all four seasons.

My husband and I spent 4 nights at the BML right after Christmas and had an absolutely wonderful time. Carol and Michael bend over backwards to accomodate all their guests in every way possible. The room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfasts were outstanding, something new and delicious every morning. The lodge is back in the woods set back off the main road which we really liked. Michael took us on a snow shoe hike after dark one evening providing head lamps for us to use in order to see the path. It was strenuous, invigorating and fantastic! Afterwards he put on a wonderful fireworks show for all the guests. It was a very enjoyable and memorable experience for us and we hope to go back again. It was a long way from North Carolina but well worth the trip!

My (then) fiance and I booked the elopement package at the Bear Mountain Lodge. Michael and Carol (and their two kids!) are sweethearts, and so willing to do whatever is necessary to make your stay enjoyable. The elopement package was perfect for us-- we couldn't be happier that we chose Bear Mountain Lodge for our special day/weekend.

My husband and I plan to return often, and highly recommend the Bear Mountain Lodge to anyone wishing to have a relaxing stay at a beautiful inn with fabulous innkeepers!

We had a great stay at Bear Mountain Lodge, we stayed in the Angler room. The bed was super comfy, the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and just gorgeous.

On the first night when we came back from a great night at The Social down the road (great burgers Pick!) we took advantage of the outdoor spa, towels are supplied and even though it was a chilly night the spa was kept heated for guests. There is also complimentary water, wine and beer in the fridge, not to mention the delicious homemade cookies!

Breakfast was really nice. You were always made to feel really welcome, we were told to treat the Lodge as a home from home. The views are amazing, and the location is great to take in some of the great New England sights (the owner was very helpful in helping you to plan your day).

Yes the Lodge is expensive (we were there at peak foliage) however if you have the money and don't mind splashing out, it was the best place we stayed (out of 3) in New England.
