“Delicious, comfortable, affordable”
Reviewed September 11, 2011

We have eaten at this little restaurant a couple of times, and returned last night when we found that the brand new "Terra", which is on the site of the previous seafood restaurant "Angelica's" was jam-packed at dinnertime. Cold Mountain Cafe is classified as a coffee shop here, but it is far more than that. It is a very comfortable place to have a delicious meal that is quickly presented, beautifully arranged (last night tiny violet blossoms adorned our meals) and tasting very fresh. Our appetizers were delicious and filling; my husband enjoyed his gazpacho, and I had what are billed as "mini" crab cakes but would be entree size at most Boston dining spots. I am always on a quest for a good crab cake, and these were very good...not Baltimore quality but definitely not mass produced and pulled from the freezer. They were flavorful and were served with a sweet but hot pepper jam instead of the usual remoulade. Our entrees were also delicious. Highly recommend if you are in the Bethlehem/Twin Mountain/Littleton area!

“Cold Mountain Cafe : Hot spot ofr super food!”
Reviewed September 2, 2011

This is a gem of a cafe. Friendly, relaxed, local produce, incredible soups, fresh salads with lovely dressings and the bean burger is to die for. We then had dinner the next day, and the rack of lamb and the fish were beautiful. Good wine too. Tiramasu (hard to get it right actaully) was excellent, with great consistency and just the right amount of marsala. Yum! Great value too!

“Smart menu and excellent meal”
Reviewed August 27, 2011

Four of us visited the Cold Mountain Cafe as a nearby restaurant where we planned on meeting was closed....serendipity!
As the Cafe was quite full we dined outdoors on the sidewalk area but this was not a negative at all.
The menu (and chef's selections) were varied and interesting. Same with the wine list. The service was professional and knowledgeable.
Three of us had the flounder and the fourth, mushroom ravioli. All dishes were truly delicious.
No reservations accepted and if I remember correctly no credit cards.

“If you are not in a hurry... Cold Mountain is excellent!!”
Reviewed August 16, 2011

We had a late dinner there arriving just as the "rush" was ending. There were no seats available upon arrival; however we were seated in a reasonable time for not having reservations. Once seated the Cafe began to clear out. Our food came promptly and was very good. I had the grilled pork tenderloin and my husband had the filet off the specials menu. We were both very happy with our meals. We finished up and were asked if we wanted dessert. We responded with a “no, thank you” then sat there and watched the waitress clear EVERY table in the restaurant without ever looking our way again. Twenty minutes had passed when my husband finally had to ask (loudly) for our check. I felt that we should have taken precedence over the clearing of tables when it was closing time and there were no other customers waiting to be seated. Bottom line… food was really good… Café was very cute… but the waitress could use a little help.

“Lived up to its reputation”
Reviewed August 11, 2011

This place deserves its good reputation. Very creative menu, ample portions, reasonable prices would make this a good bet if you're visiting Franconia Notch or staying nearby. We got the last table the night we were there, and though we were last out, we never felt rushed. Closed Sundays, the night we arrived in town.
