We were shown to seats by our waiter in grand manner--he helped push them in. Our table has a nice cloth and overlooked a beautiful garden. The chef-owner Victor makes authentic dishes, even though he has been in New Hampshire many decades. My Zurich Veal was delicious and my husband also very much liked his pork chop order. Drinks were on the pricey, skimpy side--my house white wine and my husband's cokes. When the bill came, however, the cokes were not included. I pointed it out and he said nevermind. We left a bigger tip to compensate. It was a most enjoyable meal.

Victor, the chef/owner of the Riverview restaurant and the Wayside Inn always serves a great meal. The Weiner Scnitzel is great, as are the many pork dishes. Never had a bad meal there over many years of visits. The homemade pies, with ice cream on the side, make a great ending to the meal.

This was the first time we had dined as a group at the Riverview Restaurant, and it was a hit.

We made a spur-of-the-moment reservation for a small group of us at 7:30PM on a busy Saturday evening. Everything was great. The dining room was cool and comfortable, with great views of the river (hence the name) and a perennial garden, complete with with hummingbird feeders. We had champagne and drinks before dinner: cocktails are excellent and the wine list is solid. Appetizers were crab cakes (ample and fresh) and a charcuterie plate with picked onions, cornichons, prosciutto and beef. Dinners were salmon (incredible...huge portion of delightful salmon), prime rib (there were four cuts....we got the largest, and it was great), a swiss veal dish (superb, with fresh green beans and asparagus), and the classic duck.

Desserts were fresh blueberry pie and icecream, and homemade cheesecake. We couldn't have been happier. Service was unrushed and friendly.

Victor serves up some great dishes including lamb, duck, venisio, Bratwurst and Wiener Schnitzel
Moderate pricing and delicious with very good friendly service. The RIverview also has a view of a small stream and countryside from the entire dinning room.

If there's a special of the day--try it. If not, our perennial faves include Veal Zurich (a Swiss specialty) and Zoe's Chicken.
