Nothing could be more special than Christmas in New York City. So special that tree vendors on the city streets think they can charge near to $200 for a tree that has been sitting outside without being watered. When this New Yorker learned that she could not only get a tree for less, but also have it delivered to her APT door from NH, nothing could have brought me more Christmas cheer. It was beyond easy to pick your ideal tree from the pictures on the website, and when it arrived, it actually smelled like a tree, like from the country!!!!! Installation could not have been easier! It arrived in a cardboard box so we cut off the bottom to only see the bark, we then placed the boxed tree on the stand until the box was strait up and down. Once everything looked in place we cut the box open and out popped a REAL (perfect) tree! They even included a bag for you to wrap the tree in to throw it out. I will only order my tree from The Rocks Estate for as long as I have a say in the matter matter!

While on a New England foliage tour we decided to stop here and check it out. It has everything for the ultimate New England fall experience. We enjoyed walking through the groves of Christmas trees and the beautiful fall colors and the scenery and views of the mountains was breathtaking. They have the maple syrup and sugar experience and 2 neat gift shops there filled with all kinds of neat things to take home. There are walking trails and lots of natural beauty there also. We lucked out and had a cool but sunny day to enjoy our time there and am glad we went.

This estate is a great place to visit. Hiking trails, birdwatching, great views of Mount Washington etc. Great place to watch a sunset. Lots of history and stunning buildings. It's a Christmas Tree Farm with acres of trees in various growth stages. What can be more fun than walking around in a whole bunch of Christmas Trees?

Wow great views and a self guided walk to learn all about the maple trees and their sweet gift. At the conclusion of the walk a museum with a video that sums it all up. A must see for the visitor or local that likes sweet views and syrup ! A great place for photos of the tree farm and the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Easy to get to just off I 93 at exit 13. Bethlehem NH.

Having lived in New England for nearly 20 years, I figure I know everything I need to know about maple sugaring. But after a few hectic work weeks, I decided to take the kids to NH for an impromptu maple sugar weekend. The location we chose to do this was The Rocks Estate and Christmas Tree Farm.

The maple sugaring tour was excellent. For $15 per person, we got a brief presentation on how the American Indian discovered and used maple sugar. We learned how to distinguish different type of maple trees. There was also a chef demonstration from Sugar Hill Inn. The Maple Sugar Crème Brulee was to die for. Perfectly made topped with fresh berries.

After the yummy dessert, we rode on a horse wagon. One of the forest preservation society members explained to us how they grow the Christmas trees, tapped for maple sugar, de-forest over grown area to keep the plant healthy in the area.

After the wagon ride, the kids got to try their hands on tapping a maple tree. Then, we walked down a trail and visited another farmer working on boiling the maple sap. The farmer was great at making his presentation entertaining. He threw in lots of jokes and told funny stories. We was really impressed at how enthusiastic he was about his job.

Last but not least, on the way up the trail, we dropped by the gift shop. There, we got to try maple donuts and syrup (free; included in the tour fee). That rounded out a surprisingly entertaining and interesting tour. We highly recommend it.
