Great little motel. Very clean and neat. Great owners that live on the property. With all the choices of motels in the area, this is a great choice. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anybody.

A little background first: I am a 40 year old professional woman, I've stayed in more 5 star hotels than I can count, from Hawaii, to Paris, to Cleveland. On this particular trip, I took my 3 year old daughter to Storyland.

The price was the lowest in the Storyland area - especially with the Storyland package (I priced them together and separately). My expectations were not that high, given the price. I was pleasently surprised - stunned really - at how nice this little motel was!

The rooms were very clean. The bathroom looked brand new. I suffer from mild allergies, so if it was musty, I would have known right away. There were very nice amenities that I was not expecting: fridge, microwave, hair dryer, TV with loads of chanels, coffee at tea in the morning... and the playground. The playground is better than any municiple playground I've ever seen.

If you are going to Attitash, the location can't be beat. It is 4 miles from Storyland, which really isn't a big deal (who would walk down the highway? we all drive, so what's an extra minute?).

We ate at the pizza place in Attitash - it was OK. So was the Spaghetti Shed. Both were kid friendly. The BEST food was a little farther north, up Rt 16 (a few miles past Storyland) at the Red Fox in Jackson. We ate dinner there and had a wonderful and HEALTHY breakfast buffet the next morning.

So... I HIGHLY recommend this place. If you do the Storyland deal, you get tickets for one day. Storyland has a deal where you can go at 2:00pm on the first day, and get the whole second day included (just be sure to ask when you enter).

Side note: we had a really lovely day in North Conway too. We took a ride on the Conway Scenic Railway, went to Zeb's Country Store, then the Toy Chest. Beakfast at Pricilla's was great.

This was a really special trip for us. We will remember it for a long, long time.

Thank you, North Colony for warm, comfortable accomidations (and some good advice!)

Room Tip: We stayed in room 10. It was right next to the office. I think the street side is slightly noiseir...

We took our two small children to New Hampshire for the weekend and wanted to stay close to Story Land. This was definitely the place to stay! Very nice owners, clean comfy rooms and the perfect playground for kids. Great pool too. There is a magnificent view directly across the street of amazing mountains. Absolutely no complaints and I have recommended this motel already.

This is the second year our family stayed for a long weekend to visit Storyland. Our kids wished they could live here forever and I don't Blame them. Nancy and her husband work sooo hard to keep the place clean and running. No request is refused these people are getting to be like family to us. The pool and playground are ideal for the kids, almost didn't have to go to Storyland. Great location and Nancy has great recommendations for local eateries and sights. We have stayed at this motel for both of our visits to Storyland in Glen, NH. It is about 10 minutes away from the park, and close to other restaurants and attractions as well. The rates are reasonable and the kids play area/structures are great. The screened in porch had a bit of an odd odor, but we didn't spend much time in the porch so it wasn't an issue. Each unit has an AC, small fridge, TV and DVD player. There are public grills available for use, which we used this time around. They looked well maintained and clean. One caveat is to bring bug spray for the evenings if you plan to be spend time outside as bugs are in the area. We have not used the pool, although did see many people there on both trips.

For us the location and kids area was key. Being minutes to the park was great, and being on 302 allowed us to avoid some of the traffic going into North Conway, as we turn while most vehicles were attempting to go straight.

The beds are a bit soft for my personal tastes, but clean and big enough (full). The motel provides coffee and tea in the porch in the morning, and also has some snack bars and cold eaze available free in the office which was a nice perk.

Directions on the website were very helpful and provided a very nice drive which we probably would not have taken had we just followed Google Maps.

Don't expect luxury accommodations and I think you're all set. Will definitely stay again next time we head up that way. Probably would have given it 4.5 stars because we've had such good experience both times up there. But I think 5 may get people's expectations too high.

Room Tip: Lower numbered rooms are further away from the office and ice machine. Owners live on property

Rooms are spotless and have all the amenities of a 5 star hotel. Short drive to Story Land and nearby restaurants. Already planning to return next summer.

Pros: affordable, room was very clean (especially bathroom), good location, just north of busy north Conway, nice play area, DVD player in each room, friendly staff.

Cons: heated pool a bit cold, bathroom had no venting and window which could not be opened, bed a bit creaky.
