Attitash boasts that they have the longest (>1 mile) alpine slide in North America. It definitely can be a fun ride, but unfortunately Attitash has some problems that prevent this from being a top draw in the Mt. Washington Valley.
First, price. $35/day as of 2008 for adults. Considering neighboring attractions of Story Land and Santa's Village are 30% less and you get a whole day's worth of family fun, this is no deal. If Attitash had more to offer in the summer then $35 wouldn't be bad. But for just the 1 alpine slide (see more info below in this review on this), 2 water slides and a kiddie pool it's outrageous.
Next, long waits. As of July 2008 Attitash is still only running 1 of their 2 alpine slides. The closed one is in need of maintenance and during my 2 visits I saw no sign of any work being done on it. The management there also could not tell me when the 2nd slide would reopen. The problem is this leads to lines of >1 hour for the alpine slide run. On one day I saw families in line for 45 minutes at the base followed by another 1 hour wait at the top. Close to 2 hours wasted for 1 trip down the slide.
No complaints about the water slides. They are a lot of fun! Would be great if they added 1 or 2 more as well as an adult pool/wave pool. There is also the kiddie pool but they are strict to enforce no one over 48 inches in it (other than the parents of the toddlers).
