“Awesome choice in Tahoe”
Reviewed September 28, 2010

Zephyr Cove exceeded my expectations! I was really hesitant to stay here given the mixed reviews but was SO happy we stayed there and would definitely go back. We stayed in Cabin 25 and it was a lovely cabin with the quality of a real decent hotel room inside with a small kitchen and couch area as well. Bathroom was completely clean. The food at Zephyr was really awesome. I had the best breakfasts ever – so yummy. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. They have great activities on the water and a good beach area. I was SO pleasantly surprised and would definitely plan a stay at Zephyr Cove again.

We've stayed here before, years ago. Love the location. This time we had a nice surprise of being close to the water, having a partial lake view and a slightly bigger room. Glad to see they are pet friendly!! Our dog just loved it and having the National Park next door made it easy to have fun. Parasailed and horseback rode previously and loved it!! Next will be jetskiing or snowmobiling. Only negatives: better food at Southshore for similar prices and our shower was wimpy. Overall, can't beat the location, fun atmosphere, ease of choosing fun activities...and its Pet Friendly!! Will return again & again!! Great place for all ages!

My husband and I decided to tent camp here for a last-minute trip. We decided on Zephyr Cove because I have camped in a RV with my parents a few years ago here and was very pleased with how clean their facilities were. We also chose a walk-in tent site because the map said "Loading Assistance Availabe".
We arrived at 6:00 Sunday evening and found out that the person who helps take your gear to your site goes home at 4:30. So we had to carry our car-load of gear up a steep hill to our site, which was very close to neighboring sites. We made at least 5 trips up and down that hill that evening. When we left Tuesday morning, we found out the person would not be in until 12:00 but check out time was 11:00. We were upset that they say assistance is available but didn't provide it when it was needed.
The facilities in the RV section are very nice, but the walk-in tent area is something else. The bathrooms didn't feel clean. One was flooded and another one didn't have a locking door. For the price we paid, I expected much more. Next time, we will pay less money and stay at one of the forest service campgrounds, which in our opinion were much nicer. Also, you could hear Highway 50 all night long. I know this is something that they can't control, but it was not the quiet experience we were hoping for,

we reserved 4 RV campsites near each other, 6 months ahead of time. One 40 ft. site and three 30 ft sites. When we arrived, our 40 ft. site had been given to others and they lied and said we had changed the reservation! My RV has not changed, so why would I reserve a site too small for my RV? Only 2 sites were near each other and they were on
the side of a mountain, with no place for a tent or for a little kid to play. The other 2 sites were not together and in different parts of the park. If not for beautiful Lake Tahoe, there would be no reason to come to this campground. $72 a nite is a very expensive campsite! The reservations people are awful. The camp host, Bill, was very helpful and friendly. He was the only bright spot. The beach across the street was beautiful but pretty much full of party hardy types. Both days there were comotose drunk young people left on the beach by their "friends." An ambulance was eventually called.

We stayed at a Zephyr Cove, 2 Bedroom, Lakeview Cabin (#11) and I couldn't recommend it highly enough. It was a very nice cabin with front wood deck, table & chairs. Inside was a dining area w/table & chairs, large living room, TV/cable, spacious full kitchen, nice full bath, and two bedrooms, one with 2 twins and one with a queen bed. Free internet, light daily maid service provided and free bags of ice provided up at the lodge store. The beach was steps away from the cabin. Be forewarned that with the beach nearby and the cabins situated in the pine trees, there is a lot of dirt and dust, but it was well worth it. The only thing I would have changed was to book a longer stay, but the cabin was fully booked through the next week.

The food was great at the restaurant and the waitresses were very nice. Loved the room at the lodge. Great view of the lake. Was there for a wild 4th of July weekend!

My family and I love Zephyr Cove and Lake Tahoe. We have come back (from Florida) to Lake Tahoe 7 times and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. The cabins are clean and cozy with fantastic views, the resort has plenty for the teenagers to do, the resort is located just 4 miles from the nightlife Tahoe has to offer -- what's not to love? We wake up in the morning & wander over to the restaurant for great breakfast options. We have never been treated badly while at Zephyr Cove and we will be back again without a doubt.
