“A Fresh Breakfast”
Reviewed September 15, 2010

This is the best breakfast I have ever had. It was filling, tasty, fresh and home cooked. I had french toast, bacon, sausage and scrambled egg and shared a side of biscuits and gravy. I am ridiculously picky about breakfast and it is my least favorite meal of the day as I always end up feeling overstuffed but this left me full and energised! The gravy was light and tasty not glupy or heavy and the french toast was filling but made with brown bread which was more flavorful. My husband had eggs benedict which he is a bit of an expert on as he eats it whenever he can and he really enjoyed this one. The hollandaise was hot, the bacon was fresh tasting and his home fries were like roast potatoes, yummy! The biscuits were also home made, hot and airy not heavy lumps of starch. My scrambled egg was light, fluffy and well mixed, I hate lumps of white in my eggs. Everything was grease free and fresh!

You can sit by the window or on the deck and see the lake, there aren't that many places where you can dine right by the water and this was pretty close. The service was prompt and friendly and the dining room was clean and light and didn't smell like a greasy spoon which always turns me off breakfast.

The lunch portions looked hearty and home made. In short the local fire department was eating there, that should be recommendation enough!

“My Thoughts”
Reviewed January 9, 2009

My wife and I ate lunch there on a Friday. The restaraunt is in the "resort", but does not sit on Lake Tahoe, but rather on the 2 lane highway that runs along the resort = no good lake view at which to look if one is looking for such. I ordered one of the "skillet" meals ($8) and she ordered an egg-bacon-pancake type plate ($8). The food was hot and fairly tasty--about the same flavor level of food as Dennys. The coffee was hot. The wait staff was average. The restaraunt and the bathrooms were very clean. We had nothing to complain about nor anything to write home about. Bottom line: decent place to eat if you are looking for a meal and happen to drive by. Not worth travelling out of one's way.

“Good Food, Good Atmosphere”
Reviewed September 4, 2008

I really liked the 1950s look and feel of this roadside restaurant. It seems like every town has a lot of chain restaurants but few good independent restaurants. This restaurant is reasonably priced, service is good, and it is very clean. People are friendly and there is a large menu.
