Took the 11AM to 1 PM cruise on the MS DixieII on Lake Tahoe............from Zephyr Cove to Emerald Bay.as we had family visiting from Nova Scotia and Lake Tahoe is a "must see"......Had picked the Dixie because that was the paddlewheeler that our children had hosted our 50th Anniversary dinner party back in 1995. (this was before we moved to the Reno area ).............and this time was also memorable....we were a party of 19.......the two 3 year olds had as great a time as the two of us in wheelchairs !!!!!!!! Food was good for those who wanted to eat.......staff was great!!!! We sat inside but the rest of the party wandered all decks while we watched in comfort inside.....Our waitress was great.....didn't get one order mixed up !!! She even offered to do separate checks for everyone !!!!!! Scenery was spectacular as usual !!!!!!All in all was a great day !!!!!!

After reading all the reviews of all the boat tours in South Lake Tahoe, I chose the M.S. Dixie II out of Zephyr Cove. As other reviewers mentioned the parking fee is $8, though there is a complimentary pick up from various South Lake Tahoe locations. Upon walking down the pier we were asked if we wanted our photo taken and after turning down the offer was given the "okay" to board without any problem. We chose to sit at a window table inside on the second level out of the gale force winds! Husband and I shared a nachos platter, which was very tasty. The paddlewheel boat was not dilapidated as some other reviewers referred to other boats, though it did have a comfy albeit somewhat worn feel to it. As you might have guessed, the views were spectacular. There was some narrative along the way to Emerald Bay, though we couldn't hear it for the music being played in the restaurant area. On the way back an informative video was played on various screens throughout the boat.

The M.S. Dixie was a beautiful way to see emrald bay. The boat is large with lots of seating and plenty of room to move around. I did discover the view is much better on the back of the boat. There are lots of great photo opportunites.

First of all, this is advertised as a glass bottom boat. I would say this is not true; the only 'glass bottom' is a small square (probably 3x3) that maybe about 10-15 people can crowd around at one time.

There is an emcee dressed as Mark Twain and he provided entertainment as well as commentary. He was enjoyable.

This cruise offers a nice perspective looking on the lake from the inside-out.

The boat is large with lots of seating and plenty of room to move around. The tour takes you from Zephyr Cove across the lake to Emerald Bay and back. Lots of fun information by the captain throughout. There is a bar and also food service. We went on a calm and clear summer day in July and it was just lovely.
