“Excellent tour to take in the beauty of the lake!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

We took the 11am cruise on a sunday. It was pretty empty so we were free to move anywhere to take photographs. The duration is 2hours. Initial 5 minutes is beautiful and then you can sit and enjoy a drink till you go closer to the emerald bay. The lake looks breathtaking near the emerald bay. The narrator gives some interesting information about the lake and surrounding areas. A beautiful and easy ride across the lake. Unlike the Golden gate bridge cruise at San francisco, it was not cold or windy at all on the top deck. We got to enjoy the beautiful lake and the sun from the top deck. It is well worth the money and highly recommend this cruise.

“A must do!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013 via mobile

We have been on both the M.S. Dixie and the Tahoe Queen. We took a dinner cruise both times. The food was better on the Queen a few years ago, but the band was better on the Dixie. It's a fun 3 hour trip on either one! Great for a romantic outing or a family sightseeing trip!

“Tahoe Fun”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

As always the staff and crew did a great job of mixing a bit of Lake Tahoe history with fun. A special visit by Mark Twain added to the entertainment. Mark Twain always has fun stories and bits of local history. Also, the cruise on the Lake helps beat the heat. Yummy food and drinks for sale on board. Four stars instead of five because they show a great DVD on the cruise that is not available for purchase. A bit of scenery and history to take home, but I couldn't. Very bummed. Thank you M.S. Dixie

“Everything right about a trip across Lake Tahoe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2013

Great views as you cross the most beautiful lake on the North American continent! And excellent information about the Lake as you go into and around Emerald Bay - the second most photographed spot in North America. Inside, on the second level, you can hear "Mark Twain" talk about his time and experiences at Lake Tahoe in the 19th century told in his inimitable style - you'll find it very entertaining. The round trip is about 2 hours of gorgeous scenery worth every penny of the $47 ticket price. This is one of the least expensive ways to get out on the Lake - a must-do when visiting Lake Tahoe.

“Excellent Boat Cruise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2013

This is worth the money and everyone will love the ride! There are three decks and inside seating with a bar, gift shop and food. There is a narrator (dressed like Mark Twain) and he is very entertaining and gives history of the area. The lake was so blue and easy ride across to Emerald Bay (and back). You cannot beat the views and if you're lucky, you may see Tahoe Tessie (their version of Loch Ness monster)!
