My family was traveling for a different Wyndam hotel group location, the Baymont, in Reno. Our car broke down though and when we came into town we saw signs for $49/night at Motel 6 and a couple of other Unrecognizable brand names. Because we were Wyndam rewards members and condo owners with Wyndam we chose the Super 8 thinking the prices would be comparable to those around them. They were nearly 2x that amount. The clerk had a cold look on her face like she didn't like her job and was not welcoming at all. Her comment on our membership was that we will get our points but no discount. I should have used my phone to access website and make a discounted reservation to get the 20% off. Incidentally, the room should have been $79 but they charged $89 and tax made it $95. Again, if I used Internet or called 800 # would have paid less on best available rate but a desperate walk in guest is clearly treated differently.
When we entered room it looked clean. Some of lights in room required some tweaking to make them work. We were exhausted and managed to get to sleep. It would have been nice if there were some extra pillows available in the room.
By morning we were woken by noise outside. Room right over lobby so can clearly hear people leaving lobby.
Shower water was turned on and was cold so we let it run a few minutes. No change even after five minutes. Sink water had hot water so we tried to make due with sponge bath and froze our heads under shower stream.
Desk clerk in morning was much more friendly. She apologized for cold showers and took time to write down room number so hopefully next traveler will be benefited.
Breakfast had some nice choices. Oatmeal, yogurt, and dole fruit cups. Also 2 kinds of cereal, milk, juices, coffee, toast, etc.
Cinamon rolls are not the fresh warm looking ones advertised on website. They are wrapped in plastic wrap but I was told you can microwave them for 20 seconds and they will become that advertised product(not that I asked for that information).
Was this worth the extra $50/night over the $49 motel 6? No. I think we should have saved the money we paid and walked a crossed the street even at that late hour. The $64-76 average price listed on Trip Advisor is inaccurate.
Best of luck to wayward travelers
