“repeated stays........”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

We have stayed at the Winnemucca Inn on several occasions and have always had a clean room, polite and courteous staff plus have the benefit of food casino and sleeping quarters all under one roof. Easy walking distance to other places in town or shuttles are available for front door pick up. Outdoor seasonal pool closes in September and no breakfast served but normally the $$$ saved if reserved ahead will more than cover that.

Room Tip: booking ahead will help if you have any 'special requests' for your stay but even on the spu...

We went to the Winnemucca Inn in Winnemucca when the Best Western was full. We were pleasantly surprised by the lovely decor and the size of the room. It had two sinks, a large fridge and a bathtub. It did not have an indoor pool or breakfast but the price was very reasonable.

Room Tip: room on first floor are convenient

I wasn't sure when I had to check in at the casino cashier desk that smelled strongly if the smokers inside. Not the best first impression for someone who doesn't smoke or gamble. I was even more unsure when we had to walk around a huge tour bus to get through the parking lot. Would it be loud with people coming back to their rooms in the middle of the night? Would the room also smell? Not to worry! Our room was well away from the casino sounds and VERY quiet. Very nice, clean and comfortable. Just wonderful.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the rooms in the building near the pool if you don't care to be near the casino...

This is a stopping point in my travels. The rooms are excellent. The restaurant is wonderful. Best of all, the employees are pleasant and make sure the guests are happy. I have stayed several times before, with each experience confirming the positive.

Room Tip: Any room has been fine.

Was on our way to Klamath Falls, OR.. our TripTik showed us going to Reno, NV and then up several State and County roads to Klamath Falls, OR.. It seemed like a shorter distance if we take the State and County Roads from Winnemucca, NV to Klamath Falls, OR.. therefore, we decided to spend a night in Winnemucca. Went to Visitors Center and she gave us an outdated hotel guide and said the prices would be a little higher now. Never dreamed in a million years how much higher the prices would be. Decided to stay in Winnemucca Inn and Casino.. they had rooms, restaurant & Casino.. I almost fell over when I was told the price which was over $100 a night.. and she said Holiday Inn prices were higher. The motel was expensive, restaurant was expensive... Very disappointing!!!! Hope we never get into a situation where we have to spend another night in Winnemucca, NV!!!

Room Tip: Got room on first floor by the pool.. it had front door and sliding door in back which you could go...

We knew going into it that the Winnemucca Inn was going to have a totally different flavor from the other hotels we stayed in on our cross-country drive. It's a weird place. That said, we really have no accommodation-related complaints. Our room was on the first floor but no casino noise whatsoever, really minimal hallway noise at all, to be honest. Very private. Definitely appreciated that! This hotel is pet-friendly, which is great, but we observed several dogs locked in their owners' cars when we arrived, one of which eventually merited a call to local police after several hours, not only because it was August, but because the whole region was blanketed in wildfire smoke - not the hotel's fault at all, obviously, but the fact that we had to take the initiative to call the PD ourselves spoke volumes - and seeing these dogs in such distress was really upsetting. There's no free breakfast, but there is a serviceable restaurant attached to the hotel that serves food 24/7, take-out menu is available. We didn't make use of the casino at all - but we did notice there's also a video-game arcade across the hall.

So- definitely a one-of-a-kind experience. Didn't get much sleep, and checked out pretty early the next day, anxious to get to the end of our journey - but - still a welcome respite after many hours of driving through Nevada's badlands.

Booked this hotel after reading about it on Trip Advisor but I still had some misgivings. When we pulled into the parking lot I was thinking where else we might stay. However the price was right and we found the room to be clean, roomy and comfortable. We were on the second floor and there was an elevator.
The front desk staff was friendly.
The smallest casino I have ever seen but slots were loose.
No breakfast buffet included but there is a restaurant just off the casino that is open 24/7. The breakfast was very good and reasonably priced with good service.
Did not use the pool.

Room Tip: The room we had on the second floor was very quiet. No casino or street noise.
