It is not often that we will interrupt a trip for a food stop. However, whenever we are traveling across Nevada's Interstate 80 we always plan to be in Winnemucca at mealtime. (and we stop even if it isn't mealtime) The "Griddle", a cafe in the center of town simply puts out so good a breakfast or lunch meal that it cannot be passed by. Recommendations include teh crepes, a full breakfast with pancakes rather than hashbrowns, an enormous waffle and the best thick-slices bacon this side of a pork processing plant. The sandwiches are massive as well. I urge you never to leave without taking a homemade cinnamon roll for the road. They heat up perfectly in motel microwaves. The service is local and friendly and we always leave satisfied on all counts. (food, friendliness and value) This is a can't miss meal stop.
