There was no cable in our room and we had to wait 3for hours to see if another room would be available ( this is for a Sunday night). There was no soap or coffee and the manager said these things happen.
The buffet was the worst we've ever had.
The big screen in the sports bar must be older than the hotel.

We have watched this hotel get worse and worse over the years. Our last room was opposite the
klieg lights that illuminate the front-curtains would not close-no sleep.TV would not work, call the desk-no response. The negative list is endless! The owners are pumping all their money into fixing another hotel in town and letting this one fall apart!Stay at the Montego or anywhere else!

Hello Lon B,

I am so sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience at our hotel. At the same time grateful for a very honest feedback, which I hope would lead to improving our hotel's physical appearance as well as our customer service.

Hoping that we could serve you better next time.

the restaurant is poorly staffed with staff who most of which...don't understand English...very bad idea in a resort area. We were seated in a very thinly populated dining area. However, it took probably a good 25 minutes for the waitress to even come to our table and take our order. I spotted a few bags of bread that were poorly stored over a stove, and were half open, which would allow this bread to go stale. Also, this particular brand of bread was the "cheap", cut rate bread, that I used to buy when I was young and on a budget...however, they had no problem charging $5.00 for a BLT made from it....seriously, this bread costs about 89 cents in the grocery, the last time I looked....so I am sure that this dump probably buys it at half that.

The carpeted floor was badly in need of vacuuming and our tables and chairs were worn out looking, uncomfortable, and dirty. This place must have had it's hey day in the 70s

We have been to the Wendover Nugget several times and were offered a free room, which we tool advantage of on 9/27/12. When we checked in the clerk wasn't friendly and was inefficient, had to wait quite a while. When we got to our room, the carpet was filthy and the beds were very old and hard. We stayed the night, but the next morning was horrible. We had no hot water, only one washcloth, and the shower nozzle sprayed directly up into the ceiling and we were afraid that the ceiling in the shower would colapse. This was a standard room in the west tower and was far worse than one that we stayed in a year ago in a different tower. Even if offered a free room in the future, we will never stay in the far west tower again. We were in room 506, and it was perhaps the worst room we have EVER stayed in. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone, under any circumstances.

Room Tip: Stay anywhere else.

We checked in on the 20th of Sept. and checked out on the 22th. The desk clerk was not friendly at all. Got in the room, we were ready to take a shower, only one wash cloth in the room. Went to the front desk and finally got someone to get me another rag. Went in the restaurant to eat, had to fight the flies for our food. Went to the black jack table, had the same experience as we did at the front desk, very unfriendly. Went to another casino to gamble. The next day after leaving the maid a five dollar tip, one wash cloth again. This time, I made them bring me a wash cloth. They came to the door with a wash cloth and some more towels that I didn't need. When I got in the shower, the wash cloth had a hole in it big enough to put my fist thru. NEVER AGAIN!

Our room at the Red Garter was better than a typical Motel 6 room, and the price was less than half the price of any Motel 6 room. They are currently renovating the building, so the price and quality are sure to go up in the future. The other hotel/casinos in town are far superior, but at a significantly higher price.

Room Tip: Stay here for LOW PRICE or elsewhere for LUXURY.
