“Wonderfull Hotel & Rooms - Recomend!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 1, 2008

We stayed at the Montego Bay on our way from Vegas to SLC in the mini suite. The room was excellent with LCD TV, stemroom and Jacuzzi for two! The rooms a decorated quite dark, which we quite liked, but some may find a bit difficult if visually impaired. The rooms a large and you have various seating as well as a large bed. The buffet is a good standard but not quite Vegas quality, but hey, for $16 – I’m not complaining!!

The casino is a reasonable size and has all you need for gambling fun, however, being midweek is was quiet and (with all respect) mainly full of the golden generation, so young 20/30/40somthings may feel out of place as I did. Check-in was quick and easy and all staff polite.

My only quibble would be that there was only one bar open and you had to go down steps, as a w/chair user this restricted my ‘drinking’ (a good thing some may say) other than that the hotel was accessible and would recommend to anyone with a disability.

All-on-all Excellent value for money, brilliant rooms, good food, good gaming!

How can you ask for more? We had two king beds with 3 to 6 feet on all side. The TV - Plasma! All for under $100 a night. I could not have been happier.

Very Clean rooms, great service. Not a place for families. ATV tour was worth the time and money. This was our first time. We ate like kings and gambled to our hearts content. We would go again. 3 nights for 179.00 per person through wendoverfun.com......worth every penny.

Took the Max Air flight out of Bellingham $179.00 (what a deal), Flight left on time and arrived on time. During the flight typical drinks etc. Flight crew were funny and great service. After the food service they drew names for free dinner cupons and also had everyone throw a dollar with a seat number on it a drew a name (we did not win) and next thing we were at Wendover. Bus was there to take you to your hotel, walked in to hotel to checkin got my room key immediately (no waiting), luggage was placed in my room for us. The room was great, standard room with King Bed and lots of room (as nice as any room I have stayed in Las Vegas).

The first night at Montego Bay ate at the Paradise Grill, food was good and resaonably priced, also had Breakfst there. Ate dinner at the Steakhose and used a cupon we received with our package ($25.00 if meal is more you just pay the difference), our dinner was fantastic, in fact we went back the next night. This was the last meal we paid and the rest was covered by our comps.

Gambling was great, played at four of the Casinos in town - slots paid off and never waited for drinks. Came home with money and will be back again.

Would recomend this gambling holiday for couples, was a great getaway.

Stayed at the Montego Bay Casino Wednesday - Saturday. We stayed in the mini suite and thought it was great. The room had a two person hot tub, king sized bed, steam shower, mini fridge, coffee pot and it was very nice. We would go back.

We ate at the steakhouse at the Rainbow - and went back again the next night because it was so good. I had the stuffed shrimp - and it was awesome. We also ate at the buffet at the Montego Bay - really good food for a buffet. The food at the other restaurants in the casino's were also good. We thought the food was above average at every place we ate at.

The people there were friendly for the most part. We had a couple people who were rude - called the front desk to ask a question about our flight home and were told to call the flight reservation people. We said we had tried that and her response was "well that can't work all night can they?" I thought that was pretty rude.

Our biggest complaint, the drinks didn't come near as fast as we would've liked. We tipped $1-2 every time they brought us a drink but it was still sometimes 45-60 minutes later before the waitress would come back. I think they stuck to the larger betting tables more than the slots.

You should only go on this vacation if you enjoy gambling - because you really can't find much else to do there. It was a great get-away and I would go back - but it would be more fun if you went with a big group of people.

Visited Wendover for the first time on a junket from Austin. We had a great time. Please Montego Bay - fix the second elevator as I hear its been broken for a long time. My husband plays blackjack and had a great time. Single deck, deep penetration and good rules - some of the best he's seen. Being a slot player I had good luck with video poker but not so much on the other machines. My best slot play was at the Rainbow. We had dinner at the steakhouse at the Rainbow 2 nights and really enjoyed it especially with the discount coupons from the junket. We will be going back but may try one of the other hotels. The people who work in the 3 casinos - Montego, Rainbow and Peppermill could not have been nicer. My husband left his laptop on the shuttle bus and they had it delivered to us in 30 minutes (avoided a panic for us). I love not having to deal with the luggage - such a nice touch. It's remote and only gambling is there but I suspect in the warmer months with the golf and other possible outdoor activities that it would be even more fun. We will definitely be going back - you can't beat the price!

  • Liked — The people who work there were awesome.
  • Disliked — The second elevator didn't work and you spent a lot of time waiting for the main one.

Flew down on a Thursday morning....we were supposed to leave on Thurs. night, but they called and asked if we were interested i n leaving on a morning flight. I guess the big plane was being serviced so they split the flight into two trips going down. We wanted to leave early so left at 10 am on a 737-400. It was a pretty nice plane...a lot of leg room, plus we had an empty seat in between us that we used for bags etc... We arrived an hour and a half later and it was snowing!!
We arrived at the Montego Bay Resort. Most of the other people stayed at the Peppermill. Entering the casino, you are met with a lot of neon lights and mirrors, mirrors and more mirrors!! It takes awhile to get used to it. The rooms were nice...we just had a bad view... nice showers (no we didn't get the room with a tub in it). It was pretty quit until Friday night. They bus in people on buses from Salt Lake City for 15.00 so the casinos gets real loud and busy. A lot of younger people in their 20's. We went to the other casinos, but I am glad we stayed at the Montego because it is connected to the Nugget and I liked their slot machines there the best. They had Wheel of Fortunes where the other places didn't. They also had a Quiznos that we ate at twice. ( and an ice cream place) oh yeah, and a starbucks.
The other casinos are decorated just like the Montego with the neon and mirrors. We got a two for one Steak dinner at the Rainbow steak house, which was pretty good. Service was a little slow, but it was good. The cheapest steak was 23.00. Be sure and make a reservation..we didn't and we had to wait an hour which wasn't to bad..just gambled. You have to like to gamble if you go there, because there isn't anything else to do there in that town...no malls, stores to go to, nothing. Oh, yeah, I guess there is a museum that has World War 11 planes in it. I can say that the shuttle service is pretty good. There are always shuttles waiting to pick you up to take you to the other ones. We never had to wait to long.
The food...well, we ate at the steak house at the Rainbow..pretty good...the grill at the Montego is good...a little expensive..most items were at least 8.00. Had a breakfast and a lunch. Then we ate at the Quiznos in the Nugget a couple of times...and the last night we ate at the buffett at the Montego. It was ok. We were going to go Friday but it was like 24.95 so we decided to wait. We didn't use our comp cards there a lot so we didn't have much money on them. We played mainly at the Nugget. I had a good time there, but my husband says he will not be going back there anytime soon. I guess we will save our money for Vegas!! I prefer Laughlin over Wendover..at least you can go to the mall or walk to the other casinos. You can't at Wendover..there is maybe a mile to the Peppermill and from the peppermill to the Rainbow a half mile. Well, you could walk, but it was so cold we didn't want to. We did walk to the Red Garter...an old place...but ok. not very big. Glad we went though to see it. For the price it was ok...oh yeah...the plane going back was a 737-800 and it was tight. No leg room and when you put the tray down it was like in your lap almost! They do give you a cookie and some pop so that was nice...most of them don't anymore.
