Small, not too time consuming, and a great way to begin your visit to Virginia City. Lots of interesting artifacts, from bottles to dolls, and an inexpensive entry fee. Its real worth is information - maps and diagrams - of the many mine tunnels that run beneath the town. Highly recommended.

I liked this museum due to its extensive turn-of-the-century doll collection. It is a must see. The fee is like 3 dollars but well worth it. Also, this museum offers a video show reel of the history of this small mining town. A definite must see for those passing through the historical mining town of Virginia City, NV.

This museum is very small. Most people will finish in under an hour. If you want to stay out of the sun, or if you have children, for $3 entry fee per person (age 12 and above), it is not a bad choice.

This museum so perfectly captures the mining history of Virginia City within its four walls. There are display packed with artifacts from the daily lives of the miners, mining equipment, old photos, documents, ore samples, even a display of women's clothing styles that were popular during the boom period in Virginia City.

The outside of this small museum attracts your attention. I frankly expected more inside but it was still interesting. I for one enjoyed the display of fashions during the late 1800's and early 1900's with a view of what a woman would wear for different events seasons and time of day. Something I hadnt seen before. My husband enjoyed the 3 d display of the underground mines gave you a sende of what was underneath your feet. Doesnt take too long to go through just short and sweet.
