One particular attraction in Virginia City is that every weekend, the locals were customs like it used to be in the 18th century. You can see a sheriff, an army officer or a local lady dressed like in the last century. You really feel like you traveled in a time machine..

We enjoyed the film as well as browsing though all the relics of days gone by. The informative displays about mining in the area were particularly interesting.

It was fun to visit, but not as informative about life in the mines as we would have wanted. For engineering types there is a lot of interesting mining equipment.

There are many things to see. Gives you the chance to see artifacts from the town and items that show what life was like during that time period.

If you want wild west mining history this is the place. I am only sorry that I could not spend more time there. You won`t believe how deep the mines went, how much money they made and how complicated there design was. Also have a small gift section as you enter with inexpensive articles for adults as well as children.
