There is a little known museum in the basement. Particularly good docent on our visit (a Saturday). This church was recently retrofitted for earthquake protection

Just down the hill from main street..the church itself is quite pretty inside and has a small gift shop with interesting items and "mad monk" wine. Be sure to ask about the story of the mad monks.

To the right side of the main entrance (the downhill side of the building, there is a smalll museum, which has mostly items relating to the church itself but also some local history items.

There is also a VERY CLEAN restroom in this museum...

The docents are knowledgeable and seem to be pretty proud of the church's history.

Worth a visit if you are already IN Virginia City...wouldn't make the drive just for this.

Beautiful church, wonderful small museum with almost personal service since it was not busy. Good gift shop and helpful staff.

Beautiful and classic gothic architecture. The museum was a plus as it includes information on the city, cool old photos + the iterations of the church throughout its history. Be sure to ask about the Mad Monks. Best part was Barbara in the gift shop and Tom in the museum. They were most helpful and took quite a bit of time to talk with me.
