I have been traveling through Tonopah for many years and only started staying at the National 9 because a friends wonderful experience. The people were amazing. They were knowledgeable and friendly so on my way back through 2 weeks later my husband and I decided to stay there again and for some unknown reason they decided to change managers and it appears they are working on running thier business into the ground and doing a great job of that. The new manager was rude and did not know what he was doing and blamed the owners. I will never stay here again and advise that until they put a sign up that says "back under previous management" to steer clear of the "new National 9"

this place is older, but it is cheap and clean. the girl at the front desk was exceptionally nice and they have a small breakfast for you in the morning. I stayed at the Ramada first, then checked out because it was awful. the next night I stayed at the National 9 and was much happier.

Appearances are deceiving when it comes to the National 9 Inn in Tonopah, NV. Trying to find a desk clerkduring day light hours is a chore in itself. Since the office closes at night, DON"T make reservations! your lucky to get it after 11! All in all the rooms were exceptionally clean, considering the the condition of the the place. The bathtubs are horrible, black (discolored) from age, but as clean as possible..the floor pealing, the sinks are stained, and there was drawings (we believe to be of male genitals) on the mirror. It appeared that someone did try and scrub off, unsuccessfully. The walls have holes, larger than nail holes, The beds are hard and we didnt sleep at all, and woke up with back aches. The water is either ice cold or burning hot, and can not be regulated. The FREE BREAKFAST, what breakfast, brown banana's and a cup of coffee. Which we had to ask to prepare. What little was in the pot was burnt and old. The linens were clean, but worn. The blinds didnt completely shut. The grounds nicely done. The quality of the rooms is the issue. The plumbing and furniture are horrible.

From Russ answering the phone to the comfy beds, this is a great deal. Thou it is a older establishment, it is well cared for, clean, has free wifi and the customer service is old fashion kindness. Compared to other places that we get at this price, National 9 Inn at Tonopah is a HIlton. We pulled in at 9 p.m. and head out early the next morning. Our daughter did some research while we were on the road, called us with this recommendation. Perfect stop - Thank you for your kindness

We were recently traveling and had car troubles, the local towing company suggested this motel and towed us there. The rooms were clean and very affordable. The staff was friendly very helpful, even gave us advise on which resturants were best and how to get back on the road sooner. If we are ever in Tonopah again we'll stay with them.

We arrived in Tonopah at about 8 or 9 p.m. in mid June, 2003. We went from motel to motel and finally tried the National 9. The room looked ok, though it appeared to be a declining motel. Once we brought our stuff in, we discovered the phones didn't work and the cold water was hot. The hot water line under the sink was shut offwhen I turned in on, the hot water leaked a lot.I went to the office and told of these problems. The woman there said, "Oh, the phones are down, didn't I tell you that?" She hadn't. I asked again about the water and there was a lame excuse about someone having "fixed" the plumbing and now it wasn't working right. "Leave it on 15 minutes and it'll be ok." I left it on 1.5 hours before it turned cool.I have travelled a lot and can recognize a motel with deferred maintenance. Motels decline fast and perhaps has changed hands recently since your previous reviews are only about 6 months old. We syated at another National 9 in Utah and though it was far better than this one, it showed signs of decline tooI recommend avoiding this chain unless desparate.

The national 9 inn was a great place. at first sight you see a bright sign. and then a very welly lit parking lot. and then on the reader board it says all rooms 29.99 and that was the best thing. there staff was really nice. they asked if i needed help with anything. they offer a free contintal breakfast in the morning. and a 24hr coffee. and there rooms were very clean and comfortable.
