Lovely modern visitors centre which provided everything in the right sequence. There was plenty room and no need to squeeze together. The audio system was very clever and the period dress and weaponry demonstration was well timed in duration and information. Being able to actually hold the weapons really helps. The projected run of events on the battlefield gives an excellent idea of how it all happened especially when you go outside to the moor itself.
The battlefield itself is marked well with flags and information points.
Well kept and helpfully enthusiastic staff.
Keep up the good work.

Thank Malcolm C

Easy to reach by car or public transport from the centre of Inverness this tourist attraction has a sleek, modern visitor's centre which houses sperb audio visual and interactive exhibits. I really enjoyed the weapons demonsrations and the battlefield tour, the guide must of had a history degree, he was so knowledgeable. Best of all though is the film theatre, where you are surrounded by different views of the battle all in sequence as it progresses and at full volume. a great experience. Why can't all museums be this good?

Wasn't going to go here at first, but after having it recommended to me so many times in a few days,I thought I had better give it a try.And thankfully I wasn't disappointed. The whole story was very well told in the visitor centre before you get out onto the actual battlefield. Also inside is the battle immersion film,a four minute film of the battle shown on four screens which you are surrounded by.Thought this was a very good effect. Also very thought provoking when you are walking on the battlefield and realise you are actually walking on mass graves.

I'm not a big history buff, but this place really does have something for young and old. The investment has been really well spent. The information boards are well presented and you get a gradual feel of the battle and the build up, before you go out onto the battlefield (with a satellite guide). Well worth the entrance fee and you won't be disappointed.

Perfect place to visit on a wet day. Full of the Scottish history presented in a manner that was both enjoyable and interesting. This is a National Trust centre so you can expect every thing to be tip top. Visit and enjoy!
