We came to Cullodon as part of a coach tour. There was an informative and lovely visitors center. There were walk ways through the battlefield which was eerily quiet.

The site has been preserved in its original condition as a moor - long grass and a windswept plain where so many men tragically died. The battle lines are shown by flags based on detailed research. The Scottish national trust has done a brilliant job with graphics and a battlefield scene showing how the battle progressed to its sad end. Access is direct and easy, making his one of the best we saw in our tour of Scotland

Free for me as I am an National Trust member. Very interesting for adults in explaining the history behind the event and the information is presented in a unique and interesting way. Beautiful architecture and exhibit design. The experience of standing on a battlefield is recreated and was very emotional.

Visiting Culloden Battlefield was one of the highlights of my trip to Scotland. The visitors' center is extremely well done, starting with the museum and short film about the battle. Walking out to the site was a moving experience. It's hard to believe 1,200 men died here. There was also a demonstration of the weapons used in the battle which was interesting. The gift shop was well stocked with anything you might want.

First of all, the new lay out of the visitor centre is very good and very informative - a big improvement on before. We enjoyed most of our visit and as members of NTS we found it to be overall good value. Only downside was that certain aspects, particularly the 'costumed displays' were cancelled due to private tours. The centre needs to remember they cannot survive on private tours alone...
