“Lakeside Inn & Casino”

Great restaurant and Casino games, video poker was fun and I won enough to get one of the best prime rib diners ever... I was not staying here because of a timeshare on the ridge which was just up the hill from the casino. I even have a souvenir of the rewards card with my photo on it. If you are ever in Lake Tahoe any where else make it a point to visit this unique Casino...

Last year they rented the big room we requested months in advance to someone else so we had a small room. This year the second night we were here the roof in our room was leaking so we had to pack everything up and move into another room. Perhaps it's time to find a new place to stay.

My husband and I stayed at the Lakeside Inn for one night for an event we were attending in Lake Tahoe. This is more of a motel than the usual casino hotel. Room was clean and sufficiently comfortable for a short stay. Bed is comfortable. Decor is rustic, a little dated, but not bad. There wasn't much room to unpack, just one small closet/shelves combination, which wasn't a problem for us since we were staying such a short time. The sunken bathtub was kind of cool! Reception was efficient, but I did not understand why they had to put $20 for incidental on my credit card. It will not actually be charged to my cc, but I thought this was only for when you paid cash. Oh, we'll, small complaint for an otherwise decent experience.

A friend and I stayed at the Lakeside Inn for one night before participating in a nearby trail race. We arrived early in the morning, around 2am or 3am, so we didn't have the room for long, but did manage a few hours of sleep. We checked in quickly and the man at the desk directed us to our room on the second floor of the building in the back.

The room was rather large and had a balcony on the backside, as well. It was all very clean and surprisingly comfortable. The bathroom was a bit, odd, with a tub sunken into the floor by a couple feet. It was as if the top of the tub was almost level with the rest of the floor of the bathroom. It seemed to make getting in and out of the shower a bit more dangerous, but we had no issues.

I will say, however, the name is a bit misleading. While it's near the lake, I don't think any of the rooms could even see the lake, let alone be considered lakeside. Our room had a view of someone's house. This wasn't critical; I certainly wasn't there for the view from the room, but if that's what you want, you'll need to find somewhere else.

Wonderful little motel for those not wanting the high end Casino hotels. Within walking distance of these hotel, but this is a small diamond for those who enjoy the relaxing experience. Close to Lake Tahoe and has all the amenities who do not need all the action. Quaint casino and great restaurant on site.

This is an older hotel/casino that has been updated. The hotel portion is separate from the casino and restaurant. The hotel is a 2 story motel style. The room was large and well appointed with a faux rustic atmosphere (Exterior shingles on the wall, western style bedspreads). The deal was a night's room plus 2 steak and lobster dinners plus 2 breakfasts for $89 plus tax. The restaurant and casino are quite nice but the elevator could use some updating. They seemed to be a bit understaffed in both the casino and the restaurant. I saw only one coctail waitress in the casino and neither my wife nor I ever got a drink. Even though there were numerous empty tables in the restaurant when we went for dinner at 8 PM, we were put on a list and waited 30 minutes for a seating. Dinner was very good. Breakfast was limited to $4.99 value each but what the heck? Subtracting the food value from the total price resulted in a cost for the room of aprox $27. Not a bad deal.

My family reserved 3 rooms for one night for a birthday gathering. The exterior of the buildings looks old. This is not one large building with many rooms, but several buildings. The casino is in the front with the other buildings behind. This may help keep the road noise down. From the pictures on Tripadvisor, some of the rooms must be nicer than others. Our 3 rooms were identical in being fine - not great, not bad. It was noticeable that our building is not wheelchair accessible, which was surprising. The king beds were just like the room, not good or bad they were not rock hard or soft but fine. It was very quiet all night. We tried The Timbers for breakfast, which had tasty food in a nice woodsy setting. The hot tub was nice. The tv could have used a better selection of channels. All in all, our stay was ok. There are many options in Tahoe and this one is ok. We did have one mishap - the electronic door lock died at a bad moment. The hotel did give us some discount for the inconvenience. What I wonder is - how often does this happen, isn't there a better design, the hotel did make an effort to get us back to our belongings but it didn't seem as urgent to them as I would have liked. It was a very odd event.
