We took a drive from Reno to Tahoe on 395 and after visiting Harvey's and Harrah's Casino's, we decided to try Cabo Wabo. The food was good, good service and fair priced. They have TV screens for viewing the sports that were on and the atmosphere is good.

Was here as part of a Chamber event and the staff went out of their way to help everyone and provide excellent service. Definitively a place to bring friends.

We hadn't been here since they remodeled the place and reworked the menu a year ago. We didn't check out the dining room, but the bar area is much larger now. They opened things up by removing the partitions and raising the ceiling. It's still a fun and lively place. And yes, it's loud, but hey, it's Cabo Wabo! The dining room is available if you want a quieter place to eat. My bride and I both had the $10.99 "VOA Burger". The presentation looked great and the burgers tasted okay, but there were some issues. My wife's burger patty was noticeably thinner and smaller than mine. That may have contributed to hers being overcooked to well done while mine was still medium. The meat was "overworked" which made the patty very dense and dry. The "telera bun" was nicely toasted and looked appetizing, but parts of it were extremely chewy suggesting that it may have been microwaved at some point. There was supposed to be some "Habanero Cream Cheese" on the burger somewhere, but neither of of us could find it or taste it. Nice fresh lettuce, sliced red onion and tomato are on the plate, but even the addition of those could not overcome the burger's dryness. We had to add ketchup. Still, the combination of flavors which included roasted poblano chilis and melted jack cheese tasted good. The burger is also served with a generous portion of curly fries, and those were very good. My rating was bumped up to "very good" because of the great service we received from our waitress, Aga, who was smiling, personable and attentive even though she was busy. We'll come back to Cabo Wabo to try some other menu selections.

My husband and I had dinner on a Saturday evening before going to a show at Harrah's. Cabo Wabo has been remodeled with a bigger bar and a somewhat changed menu in the past year. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas which were really fresh and our meals were served in a timely manner as we mentioned we needed to get to the show. The service was great and the staff was friendly. We will be back on a return visit to the lake.

The atmosphere is loud and annoying to a 60-year old. The atmosphere is dark and not conductive to a nice meal. 2 stars because if you can get over the atmosphere, the food is good.
