Our group of 3 couples enjoyed the sunset and restaurant week dinners at the Chart House during the week of October 7, 2012. The $30 fixed price selections included 3 courses and were not only delicious but generous in their portions. Including 2 bottles of wine and tip the average check was $100 for each couple. Great service and location.

Thank William S

This place is wonderful...absolutely delicious meal. Waiter was fabulous...Only down side--the greeter...I don't understand why mgt. would place her in that position...no personality what so ever...

We had a wonderful experience at the Chart House - came for happy hour and stayed and stayed. You can easily do happy hour h'orderves as dinner BTW. It seemed us that lots of the locals do. The food was wonderful, the service was great, and the view was lovely. Apparently the thing to do is come for happy hour and stay to watch the sun set over Lake Tahoe. The food and atmosphere is a very welcome distinction from all that touristy stuff in South Tahoe or the weirdness in the casinos. (Not that casinos are weird, but, honestly, take a break. Don't eat and gamble. It can't possibly be good for you.)

This is our friends favorite upscale restaurant for a once per trip dinner. It was my first time. We were early enough for sunset and the view is great. The salad bar is very good, but it does add $9 to your dinner bill. There were six of us for dinner and all thought their dinner was excellent. Be aware that the mashed potatoes are garlic, although neither the menu nor the waiter said. For the prices - $38 for the fish special - it was very surprising that they charge extra if you request changes; want green beans instead of the vegetable medley, that's $3 extra; spinach instead, that's $6. Our service was very inconsistent. Our server was friendly, but forgot to take our drink order. After maybe ten minutes he came to take our entree order and we had to tell him we would like drinks. He seemed to be verbalizing a memorized routine rather than connecting with his customers - almost pretentious. At the end of the meal when he brought the check we had to sit through a small sales pitch to join their company's dinning plan. It sort of felt like we were in a timeshare restaurant! I did mention it was upscale: six people, one drink each, three salad bars, six entrees and two desserts; $312 without tip.

We have eaten at the Chart House every time we come to Lake Tahoe, which happens to be yearly, to celebrate our anniversary. We were married here aboard the Bleu Wave Yacht. The food is always very good, the wine selection is excellent and the views (if you arrive early enough) are very nice too.
