At first glance of the restaurant's signage I thought it might just be a bar or even a strip club. Far from it. Daring to adventure my friends and I went inside and found what I believe is the best kept secret in South Lake Tahoe. And I don't give such praise lightly. You have to appreciate the time and money spent on revamping this place. What used to be a tatoo parlor is now an awesome looking bar with great food. Clean interior and a staff that is fantastic. They made me a raving fan as I noticed their attention to detail in just about every area. Cocktails were creative and tasty. Amazingly not just a drink but a cocktail done right even down to the attention to the garnish. Our server Alyssa recommended the calamari strips...fresh and lightly breaded. Just right for an appetizer with our cocktail. My friends and I were so impressed we decided to test to see if this was a fluke. Afterall, the other tripadvisor review on the place was less than flattering. Returning for breakfast the next morning (yes, they are open 24 hours) we ordered sour dough egg sandwiches. What we watched was the cook make the sandwiches with fresh ingredients not have something pre-cooked and microwaved. It was delicious. I write this because I think if you are the type of vacationer that appreciates an eatery that takes the time to do it right rather than offer fast food flash...then the Lucky Beaver is worth your business and supporting with a try of your own. Don't let the tacky name scare you off. You will be the lucky one if you walk inside and have a bite and drink.

As a Lake Tahoe local, we were looking forward to trying this new restaurant. Being in Nevada, it has poker machines at the bar, which is a draw for locals and young college types. We were told the food was good, but expensive. Yeah, I'd call $19 for a hamburger expensive. Went on Wednesday night around 7pm, not too busy; but filled up rapidly. One waitress, one bartender and one cook. First clue things were not going to be good, "Tower of onion rings" was very dark brown. Tasted burnt and of old cooking oil. 45 minutes later, our $14 and $19 burgers were finally served (not waitresses fault). Skinny fries were dark brown again, over cooked, tasted like burnt cardboard, but insult to injury was burger was past well done. Again, only taste was char and only juice was from the pickle. Don't waste your time or your money.

A gorgeous, 24hr Sports Bar with great grill barfoods! Conveniently located between Montbleu and Harrahs. We liked it so much that we went there twice in 3 days!

MORE DETAILS:
My wife and I visit Tahoe often and enjoy our happy hours in various bars. A couple days ago, while walking around town after a movie, we were glad to have stumbled into this lively bar, known for its burgers and various food/drink combos. We had their tasty tender ribs with lettuce ($5), and draft beers ($2), DELICIOUS!

Our waitress (Kaili) was very friendly, helpful and attentive. She told us that besides their famed burgers, they have many other specials, too, e.g., during football games, they offer a $5 "combo of grilled hotdog with tater or fries, AND a draft beer".

This place has a beautiful, spacious LONG BAR, comfortable center island with bar stools, as well as many bar tables along the wall, and sport tv's everywhere. There are also machines at the bar counter for those who like to try their luck with their beer money. There is no outside seating, however. Right behind the entrance is the small kitchen area with glass partitions, where stands by the front window is an attractive rotating grill with food being prepared on it - which was actually what drew us into this nice establishment to begin with. Among us customers were young couples, groups of friends, as well as seniors like us - all having a good time!

Yes, there are numerous great bars along Hwy 50 in S. Tahoe, on both sides of the State Line, but this new 24hr Sports Bar deserves a visit. I won't be surprised that you will like it, too, especially after a movie, a late show, or after a nice stroll around town.

In fact, we went back there for the Sunday night Football, our 2nd time in 3 days. This time we tried their "Combo of Hotdog/Coors Light with Fries OR Taters" for $5. They were delicious as expected. The tater tots were crisp and yummy, although the fries were a bit limp. Our waitress did offer us another order of crispier fries without our asking. This is a GOOD Customer-Satisfaction Practice!  We appreciated that. We did not take up her kind offer, however, as we were already quite full with the tasty dogs and yummy taters; more importantly, we needed to save room for another beer. Well, we wound up having 2 more rounds and happily joined in all the cheers and groans over football and baseball!

We stopped in here, for a bite, after enjoying dancing at The Opal Lounge, right up the street. The service was fast, the food hot and well prepared; just simple, tasty bar fare. I recommend it to anyone in need of sustainence after a lot of walking and/or dancing in South Lake area.
