“A Place to Relax and Find Excitement”

The drive up highway 50 is beautiful and if you like mountain driving wonderful. Once you get to South Lake Tahoe you can continue on highway 50 skirting the south end of the lake. Once you get to Harrah's you can park your car in valet for free. Check into the hotel is the simpliest thing to do and then you take the elevator to your room and instantly you have the greatest view of the lake possible.

The rooms all have two seperate bathrooms which is a very unique idea. Restaurants abound at the hotel. The American River Grill is great for breakfast, they have a wonderful buffet with a killer view.

This is a true resort and anything that you can think of is avilable.

We stayed one night on way through to Yosemite. The room was an executive King with 2 bathrooms, which was great. Everything was clean and a partial view of the lake. Parking no problem. Check-in was immediate, even though it was 4th July weekend. The casino looks a bit tired and dark. The only real problem was getting a meal in the evening. Everything we tried was at least 3/4 hour for a table. I know it was a busy weekend but that was ridiculous.

Room Tip: Book restaurant table in advance if you get the chance.

We loved staying at Harrahs, it was a little dated but was being refurbished after we left. The rooms were massive and had to bathrooms which was a plus when we could both go for a hot shower after a day on the slopes. We were a bit worried about carting snowboards through the casino every morning but no one batted an eye and there was ample storage in the room to store and dry out our gear. We ate at the river cafe downstairs for breakfast which was okay, we used the top floor buffet once and again it filled a hole. However most nights we ventured out, would recommend Basecamp pizzas and a beer sample from Stateline Brewery - there burgers we epic! Liked that you could walk via the underpass between Harrahs and Harveys, it a bonus not to go outside when its snowing. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of june. The hotel itself is located very centrally and is within easy walking distance of the heavenly gondola, shops etc. The room was nice, 2 large king beds and his and hers bathrooms which was handy aswell. we also had a nice view of the lake from our room. However after paying the resort fee, we were told that there was wifi available but only for one device - when travelling with a group of friends it's not easy to decide who gets to be the one who gets the internet access! having said that, our stay was pleasant and i would probably stay here again if i went back to lake tahoe.

Stayed here for only one night on our way through Nevada. This area is very nice. The hotel is getting a little tattered but is still great value for a really good room - with a view if you ask nice.
Join there "Total Rewards" club. We did some time ago. It makes a lot of difference to the room prices.

Room Tip: Ask for a room a) on the corner b) overlooking the lake.

Husband and I stayed one night in executive king room which was large with two bathrooms, however it is a bare bones minimum room. Had a slight view of the lake. The room was dark. The sheets were scratchy and made our sleep uncomfortable. Ther room has a coffee maker with coffee but it is $5/cup, so we opted for Starbucks which is in the lobby. The lobby level smelled from cigarette smoke. We had originally planned on two nights, but we had a 6 am flight out of Reno and decided to stay at a hotel next to the airport - Hyatt Regency, which we liked a lot more than Harrah's. We were really disappointed with Harrah's since we read so many good tripadvisor reviews. On a positive note, we enjoyed Fridays Station Restaurant which has great views of the lake and good food. Bottom line: We couldn't wait to leave.

From Valet, check in, to the maids cleaning the rooms, everyone was helpful and friendly. The room was a suite and when you walk in you had a bathroom with just a sink and stool, then the living area which had a bar and fridge, and coffee pot. Nice couch, arm chair, table with two more chairs and a large screen TV. Through the french doors you had the bedroom with another large TV, the bathroom which had walk in shower or whirlpool tub, two sinks, and toilet. It was one of the largest rooms I've stayed in and everything looked in good shape, very clean. We had a nice view of the mountain and a little bit of the lake. This is a beautiful place and I guarantee we'll be back.
