Very interesting menu described as "Latin fusion". We are staying in the area and keep going back to try different things. Too many things intrigue us! Great prices, quality and presentation. As mentioned by other reviewers, you need to get over its location in The Lakeside Casino.

“Wow! Wow! Wow!”
Reviewed December 31, 2011

I simply cannot believe this little gem is not known by every local in Tahoe! Six of us (all long time locals) went there for dinner last night and were stunned by the amazing menu, great prices, and incredible service! All in a tiny back section of the casino! When you first sit down, the only thing that feels the least bit upscale are the cloth napkins and beautiful menus. But the atmosphere is nothing more than " casino coffee shop". But just wait till your waiter arrives at your table! Our waiter, Jim, was not only incredibly friendly, but offered us the kind of service and attention we've come to expect from the priciest, upscale restaurants (like Evans) any of us have ever been in. He explained each menu item in perfect detail, and offered his personal advice when we asked for his preferences...which we found to be spot on delicious.

The men all had selections from the more traditional Mexican menu, while us ladies ventured into the exotic side of the menu. As we waited for our meals, we enjoyed divine specialty margaritas, and the delicious complimentary appetizer of fried plantains, chips, and bread sticks with a really wonderful and different salsa and humus dip. The attention to detail in their service showed from the beginning as they gave each couple their own dish of salsa, instead of the customary sharing of the one little bowl in the center of the table! Nice touch.

Soup or salad came with some of our meals. The butternut, apple and cheddar soup is probably one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten. Don't bother getting the salad with the house dressing. It's not worth missing the incredible, homemade soup.

I had the salmon. It was kind of small, but absolutely delicous with its agave nectar glaze and side of quinoa that was seasoned out of this world. It was plenty of food. I had the orange crime brûlée for dessert - a tiny, mandarin sized orange baked with a perfectly textured brûlée inside. Yummy, but too small for real sharing, yet perfect after a substantial meal.

My friends had the butternut gnocchi, the chicken mole, the chicken fajitas, and the carne asada platter with chile releno, enchilada, and other traditional sides. Nothing was like the traditional Mexican fair, however. Everything was beautifully and artfully presented and incredibly delicious.

We encountered one small incident which was quickly handled by the excellent staff BEYOND our expectations of good service. We simply cannot say enough about this restaurant. It is now our favorite place to go on the South Shore. I can't wait to take all my girlfriends there for our next luncheon or birthday bash!

“amazing”

We went to Latin Soul for dinner. The food was fantastic! The service was great! The prices were so reasonable, especially for a weekend dinner in Tahoe. The ambiance, unfortunately is the only weak link ... BUT the food and value more than makes up for any lack of atmoshpere. Try this restaurant, you won't regret it!

“Without a doubt, the BEST value in Stateline!”
Reviewed December 19, 2011

The food is Latin Fusion. They also have some American offerings that are very good. We have been 5 times on our five day trip! They have 4 Breakfast specials on menu for 4.99 and they are delicious. Tried the French Toast with eggs and bacon, the Chiliqueles with eggs and Bacon, eggs and home fries. All great and under 5 bucks!

Dinner is equally incredible. Husband had a Ribeye steak especial for 11.99. I could go on and on, but you need to try it for yourself. Just a little corner in a small local type casino, but really can't be beat!
