Owner description: Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, designed by George Fazio in 1968 and later renovated by Tom Fazio, offers the premier setting of a championship caliber golf experience with breathtaking views of the High Sierra. Challenging yet fair, the course offers a choice of four sets of tees, ranging in length from 5,343 yards to a demanding 7,529—providing a challenge for golfers of all skill levels. The Golf Course has been consistently selected by Golf Digest as one of “America's 100 Greatest Public Courses,” and has attracted some of golf’s greatest players, including Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer, Phil Mickelson, John Daly, and Lee Trevino. Edgewood has played host to the USGA's 1980 US Public Links Championship and 1985 US Senior Open Championship, and has been the home to the annual American Century Celebrity Golf Championship since 1991. Edgewood has also specialized in hosting golf groups and tournaments of all sizes, regardless if they stay in the Lodge or not.

If you are coming to South Lake Tahoe area , you should definitely stop by Brook's bar at the Edgewood golf resort. The restaurant is open to the public so even if you don't play golf, you can enjoy what Golf Digest rates as one of the best 19th holes in golf! I have played the course several times in the past and it is a great track. I gave up the game for my sanity a few years ago but we still make a trip to Brook's every chance we get. The food is a few more $ than you will find in South Lake Tahoe but the quality ingredients and views from the bar area and open seating deck are worth it. Some of our favorites: calamari, garlic fries, burgers and fish tacos. They have several flat screens to watch your favorite event. They have 5 beers on tap and several in bottles and a nice selection of liquor. Most of the staff behind the bar and out in the dining area have been working there for years. It can get swamped there with large golfing parties and groups on the patio, so enjoy the views and have a little patience, ok?

The bar area was just right for a lunch after a hike down the mountain. Lovely scenery, and a walk around to the beach was breath taking.

I just returned from a close friend's wedding that was held at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course and it was one of the prettiest weddings I have ever attended. They got married indoors with glass windows behind them so you could see the lake/mountain view. The reception was held in a large banquet room that had windows on all sides with amazing lake views from every angle. Pictures of the wedding party were taken outside, so they had the awesome backdrop of the incredible lake surrounded with snow covered mountains. The food was delicious and the service from all the staff at the golf course was top notch. The feeling was very relaxed, yet classy.

I had their Filet Mignon and it was mouthwatering. Had a double date here and there was a wedding going on. Even though the restaurant was next to the wedding event, you couldn't tell there was a loud wedding going on, and the servers were attentive.
