We can always count on a great brew on tap at Great Basin. Tried the Death by Chocolate ale for the first time and it was smooth and yummy. Great service at a clean table - ordered the fish and chips light (3 substantial pieces of deep fried beer battered cod and a healthy serving of a fresh green salad with garlic vinegarette dressing) and had great conversation with good friends. Lots of TV's airing sporting events for the avid basketball fans but not so intrusive that we could not enjoy our meal. Great way to do spend our Saturday evening!

The first pub we visited when we first moved to Reno. It is still our favorite. Lots of good brews to choose from and delicious pub food. The service is always friendly and prompt. This is a perfect place to visit if you are looking for good brews and pub food.

Food excellent and beer even better. Great atmosphere without a wait. Parking is close, too. We often get the beer cheese soup to eat there or to go for the next day.

We went to Great Basin Brewing Co, as it was in walking distance from our hotel. There was a 20 minute wait, so we went to the bar. My guy had a handcrafted chocolate stout, and it was fantastic! Thick and creamy, with just the right bite. When we were seated, I ordered the cheese soup for me and sausage sampler for the table. The soup was thick and flavorful, with little pieces of sausage. I wanted to lick the bowl... The sausage sampler had long pieces of tasty sausage and grilled onions, and was a great starter. I had the small fried fish and salad plate. The batter was crispy, and not too thick or salty. The blue cheese dressing on the side was perfect. My guy had the steak, served with smashed garlic potatoes and a side of a garlicky, buttery sauce for the steak. Everything was prepared perfectly, and not a bite of anything was left over. Service was friendly and caring, even though the place was packed. We will definitely return!

Our first time in Sparks, we admired the old-stylish street where this pub fits just perfectly. The beers are over average, atmosphere is cool, stuff is friendly and the place is good also for kids. We have no complains!
