The service and selection of sea food was wonderful. I had oysters and they were fresh and great! Highly recommend this Oyster Bar.

“Love the crab legs”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

Casual style restaurant with friendly service, We loved the food, in particular we like the clam chowder and the crab legs. Excellent for in hotel dinning.

“Fish stew was excellent.”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

Great tomato taste, full of fish and the fresh bread went perfect with the fish stew. Breaded oyster appetizer was great also.

“It used to be the best seafood restaurant in the valley”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Like everything else at the Nugget lately, the quality of the food in the Oyster Bar has deteriorated noticeably over the past year or two. Substituting cheaper crab in the crab pan roast and raising the price is no way to keep your customers coming back.

“The Best Oyster Bar”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

This is the "go to" place for the best maritime stew, seafood cioppino, shrimp louie, oyster stew, any seafaring appetite you may have. Sit at the counter and watch the crab, shrimp, oysters, clams, cream, spices and what ever else they put into their most delectable recipes, preparing before your eyes and "nose", oh what smells to encourage the craving.
You are missing out on an epicurean experience and pleasure, if you pass up John A's Oyster Bar in Sparks.
