“Good dining at Good prices”

The Steak House within the Western Village Casino is serviced by a common kitchen to their other restaurants, Cafe Bellini, Pancho Willie's Cantina, and the 2nd Street Deli, thus the dining experience similarly feels like it is good food from a common kitchen dressed up to the environment you are placed at. The Steak House is nicely done for the upper dining experience; they do well enough with the food and especially the service to almost match. Their 12-oz prime rib dinner for $21 is an exceptional bargain, so it is a great place to return to, but needs just a little more of an edge to reach fine dining.

“Mediocre Food and Service Slower Than the Escargot”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2012

We arrived hoping to dine at a non-chain, quality restaurant; but we found the food and service to be subpar. First, the food: Our bacon-wrapped scallops appetizer was undercooked and the fried plank zucchini slices were cold and tough. As a second course we ordered a tableside-made Caesar salad for two. The flavors of egg, anchovy, and lemon might well have been balanced had it not been for an excessive amount of garlic. Try chewing a fresh clove of garlic and you'll have a sense of the taste. Our entrees consisted of rib roast with potatoes and green beans: the medium-rare slice of roast had been cooked to medium and the slice ordered rare arrived medium-rare. The meat tasted as though it was unseasoned even along the outer periphery of the slice. And the green beans: well, they were undercooked below the "blanch" stage and lacked any appreciable seasoning. The gelatinous au gratin potatoes came glued to the plate, and the warming oven baked potato was presented as a you-finish affair, unopened and barely warm with moist, shriveled skin.
Service was courteous, bordering on obsequious, but it was slow, slow, slow. While we estimated that the room was approximately 80% full, our dinner--from the initial seating to our check--lasted nearly 3 hours. Waitstaff service was especially slow between courses, and no refreshed coffee service arrived until near the end of the meal. All in all, our dining experience, like the lad's arrow aimed at the moon, fell short of the imagined goal.

“Nice Place”

For a small casino the steak house is a nice place to go, it does not have a casino feel and the steaks are cooked quite well.
