We stayed at Harrah's Reno for three nights in April. We stayed in the West Tower. The room was extremely nice. We got the first night comped and discounted rates on the other two nights. When we checked out the price was incorrect, but the hotel staff quickly corrected the error and we were on our way. The casino was clean. We were not bothered by cigarette smoke at all. Would definitely stay here again.

I can't fault the hotel at all, we got what we paid for and we weren't looking for much since it was only a place to stay for one night before heading back to San Francisco.

The Steak House in the hotel was excellent in fact it was the best meal I had eaten since arriving in Tahoe/Reno for 8 days of skiing. I would definitely recommend it.

I've had another great experience at Harrah's and had to share it. The hotel is always a winning bet; It's very clean, friendly staff, smooth check in procedure, and a fun place to stay. I won't stay anywhere else in Reno.

Just returned from 4 nights at Harrah's Reno. Not the best Harrahs property. Reno itself is a skipper. Found the city to be very seedy. Lake Tahoe is much nicer. Service was not all that great, specifically in the V.I.P. areas. Stayed in west tower, supposed to be the nicer of the two towers, still seemed kind of rundown. Casino isn't anything special, spread out over 2 sides of the street. I would skip this property as well as Reno.

My husband and I stayed at Harrah's the last night of our trip to Lake Tahoe for skiing. The room was in the West Tower but newly renovated and was beautiful. Furnishings and linens were top notch and everything was clean. Everything about the hotel was a great relief since we had spent the first night of our trip at the Peppermill and been completely icked out. The food at Harrah's steak house was fantastic, but don't forget to make a reservation as they seem to be very busy even on a Monday. The Starbucks opened at 5:30 am so we could have coffee before leaving for the airport. For transiting through Reno, a room at Harrah's was a good bet.

I surprised my girlfriend with a trip to Harrah's Reno, from San Franciso CA, for New Year 05/06. The romantic in me thought this would be a great idea; the gambler in me thought it would be an excellent idea. The sane part of me had obviously lost its voice.

After the 10 hour drive from SF, coz of snow and mudslides, the last thing we needed is for our reservation to have "disappeared" from the system, which it had - despite booking with Harrah's over the phone a week prior.

The friendly girl on the check-in desk quickly fixed this and comp'd us an upgrade to a "superior" room: paper thin walls and a 19" TV (yes, you read that right). I could barely see it from the bed, which was very uncomfortable.

The hotel is average, the food was average (as always, avoid the buffet: it was horrible) and the casino itself was, well, average.

To be honest, the whole experience felt like a trip back to 1985.

The hotel was not bad, per se; you don't go to Reno looking to live in luxury. It just wasn't that good.

If Reno is one of those places you would like to see, or you feel like you have to see it, this hotel is a great place to stay for a couple of nights. I wouldn't want to be there any longer - nor Reno, for that matter.

Pro's: it has a Starbucks in it, there's a 24 hour restaurant, great (free) Valet parking, friendly staff (I didn't have one bad experience - the staff at all levels were great).

Con's: needs modernising, slots are showing signs of age, on a busy night it was taking about 5 mins for each spin of the Roulette wheel as it seemed they were under-staffed.

If you enjoy a bet every so often: the Video Poker machines in the West Tower's bar payout at an incredible rate. I hit a 160x stake payout twice in a row, followed later by a 400x stake payout, in the period of 20 minutes. My girlfriend did well too!
