We have stayed here a couple of times. This is the second year that we stay here and we are very pleased. The hotel room is clean, safe and I enjoy the fact that it is very inexpensive. We basically stay here just to sleep and shower so we do not need a fancy room or "the experience" we much rather enjoy other things with the money saved. We had breakfast at Mels- the waitress was very helpful. This is a great little hotel to stay if you are not in need for big luxury. I have recommended this hotel to my friends and family and they also have been happy with their service. The fact that you can get a room for under $50 a night in the winter is great- It is in need of some updating but they have a very friendly employees-They are great. We will come and stay here again. You can't beat the price and service.

But you get what you pay for! First thing: it is not on the main drag with other big casinos; it's a short walk but not the most scenic. No resort services but rooms (ask for new tower) were clean and shower was great. When cheap ($35) it's a great deal, but don't expect too much.

This hotel had rooms online going for as low as $15 so i was very skeptical. I was pleasantly surprised! We got a room on the top floor with a great view of all the lights. Everything was clean and it was just the same as any other chain hotel who's rooms go for $80+ per night. It's nothing great but its an unbeatable value and not sketchy at all.

They have a restaurant, which is ok, and super cheap drinks!

Its a fun place to crash after a long day of driving.

The Sands is a good local Reno Hotel, if you are looking for a high end hotel the Sands is not for you. This hotel is clean and simple. The staff is kind and helpful. I like it here because it is a local Reno hotel. The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms are very simple. Pets are allowed. The Sands is close to downtown. I enjoy my many stays at this local hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade.

Great accommodations & outstanding price/value. We stayed here 2x on our trek to & from California. Easy Internet reservation & check-in, quiet room & hot showers. We have taken road trips & a room for under 50$ is a deal. At 30+ $ the Sands was a steal. We have a favorite breakfast stop nearby & it's so easy off the freeway. We always got parking by the reservation door.
