Took the kids to the snow for Xmas, and decided to make it an overnight-er in Reno. Circus circus was our first pick so that the little ones could have some fun. They really loved the Midway, and were fascinated by the Performances. We got upgraded from a standard 2 bed room to a mini suite for a very good price when we arrived. Really made the trip so much more fun. We are planning another trip soon.

The check in was swift and easy from curb side service of valet parking and bell service to load our luggage. Upon arriving to the room I was pleased. I knew this was an older hotel that was well maintained. This also means the rooms are larger that the newer facilities. Clean - comfortable and slept well. I will certainly return at my next visit to Reno.

I write this from my 2 queen room at 1:45 am, as the hellish noise from the bank of elevators that is attached to our room has kept two of our family of four awake for several hours. It's difficult to describe the noise, somewhat akin to small trains running in the walls, they shake the room, getting louder as they zoom past, and then there is the intermittent babble of chatter as throngs of every sort of lurid character is discharged to roam the halls above, below and around us. My sons were momentarily disappointed to learn there was no pool earlier this evening. Then they simultaneously chimed in with the astute observation that it was probably good there was no pool as it would be as filthy as the hotel and shady guests. I could continue, but it's pointless.

Room Tip: 2164 is horrifying.

A visit to Reno, Nevada is very worthwhile if one would like to experience living in a snow-capped city for a few days. The Nature's majesty and beauty we could experience here. Stay in this hotel enabled us to keep ourselves very warm, but surrounded by the snow capped hills. A stay here with family can be very wonderful. Strongly recommended for healthy rest and recuperation.

Room Tip: Rooms on the Sky Tower can give you an excellent view of the snow capped hill range.

Have stayed at the Circus Circus, Reno for as long as it has been open, although I hadn't been there for around seven years since we moved away from the area. We stayed three nights with a bargain room rate in the upper $20s. Our room on the top floor was relatively clean although there was urine stains on the toilet seat (which we cleaned with Lysol sanitizer). Apparently the regular cleaning lady did not clean the room after the last guest as it was her day off. After the initial cleanliness issue, the room was clean and spotless thereafter. We had problems with customers in the adjacent room trying to open the door between our room and theirs. They made a lot of racket, so we decided to change rooms. We were moved to Room 1013. Again, urine stains on the toilet seat and bowl, along with dirt and debris on the bathroom and room floors - didn't really look like the room had been cleaned . The "feel" of the hotel was not that of a hotel that charges a resort fee per night of almost $7. On Sunday and Monday, there were very, very few people at the hotel and fewer yet in the casino. Interestingly enough, neither the Circus Circus, Silver Legacy or the El Dorado had buffets on Monday. Harrah's had a buffet, but the former varieties of food (Italian, Mexican, Asian) were no longer available. I have to say the staff was helpful and friendly. The service and food of the Americana Restaurant in the Circus Circus was very good. However, the overall experience was sad by previous stays, most likely because of the economic downturn and the opening of Indian casinos in California. We alternate our Nevada stays between Vegas/Laughlin and Reno, and based on this last experience, we most likely will not return to Reno in the future. Hate to see once proud and great places to stay be hit by bad economic times.

Room Tip: Make sure you check everything in your room for cleanliness as soon as you check-in.

My husband and I stayed at Circus Circus because we had dr apptmts in town. It has really improved. It was inexspensive, clean, Not as smokey as i remeber it. It used to be terribly smokey in the non smoking rooms and everywhere. It was nice. Had free wi fi and new tv with hook ups handy for everything I needed.
