Just held a big workshop at this property with over 500 attendees. From the moment we met with the sales staff, to working through the details with the convention and meeting staff, to working with the banquets and catering staff, this place rocked. They all have a can do attitude, made happen what we asked for, solved issues, and made everyone feel welcome and happy. The updated summit rooms are fantastic and the restaurants are great too.

Room Tip: Make sure you stay in the updated Summit Rooms.

Staff was great and friendly. I found my room clean and the restaurants very good. I'm looking forward to the cafe opeing back up after remodeling. The location is easy to find and close to the airport.

We went to Reno to visit my daughter (she attends UNR). We had been there two previous times and stayed downtown and on the outskirts. My daughter suggested the GSR for all of the activities that my 14 year old would enjoy. I am thrilled with her suggestion! The staff were extremely friendly, the room was beautiful and modern, the two restaurants where we dined (Italian and Asian) were outstanding, and we won at the casino! We even had a great time at the driving range! In Vegas I have stayed at Caesars, The Wynn, and The Venetian, to name a few. I am telling you the experience at GSR was superior to all of those properties! Thank you for a great time!

We stay at the Summit at GSR about twice year, and this last trip, while very nice, did not live up to the quality and experience of our previous stays. Check in was smooth and out room was ready well before the 3PM check in time. Immediately we noticed that there is still a LOT of construction going on, and the one reasonably priced cafe was closed for remodeling, leaving our dining options with one of the very expensive high-end restaurants, or the buffet (which we've never cared for). The room was nice and very clean, but the desk was battered and chipped to the point of ridiculousness, which gave things a slightly shabby appearance overall. The fan in the air-conditioning system had an annoying rattle that made it impossible to leave the system on while sleeping. Luckily in November, we really didn't need it. The casino floor was really where we noticed the most changes. It appears that GSR is decreasing the amount of slots to make way for the new sports betting facility, and the area at the back (where Johnny Rockets was) remains closed off for construction. I'd estimate that there are now about 150-200 less slot machines, and those that they do have are mostly non-descript, less popular slots. Also, we ventured downstairs to go to Port of Subs, and noticed that the entire lover level is under construction, and it was very loud and un-welcoming down there. We enjoy GSR so much because they normally have everything in one place (great food, great rooms and a great casino), and while this trip was still enjoyable, the overall quality and ambiance seems to be slipping. I'm hoping that once the current owners have finished remodeling, that there will be a return to the quality and experience of previous stays.

I will definitely stay here again net time we are in Reno. This place has really great food. It's not the nicest place in the world or anything, it's simple, but best for the price.

The Breakfast buffet was amazing. It had everything you could think of, and the food was great.
