Good food, nice atmosphere, especially when combined with a visit to the exhibit and gift shop.

“Lovely Cafe in the Nevada Museum of Art”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 9, 2011

Café Museé in the Nevada Museum of Art is a great place to have lunch in Reno. They have excellent soups, salads, and sandwiches served in a large high-ceiling room near the museum's entrance. There are specials every day—try the petite beer-battered fries, they are outstanding! On the third Sunday of each month a Jazz Brunch is presented, with a special brunch menu, and live jazz. Get there early for these, they're usually packed! NMA is one of Reno's jewels and Café Museé is a great place to eat before or after viewing some outstanding art.

“Tasty food, tastefull music - what more can one ask!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 13, 2011

We usually eat there on the Sunday where they have live jazz, so it's a crowded occasion which puts the cafe to the test. Actually, it's an outside caterer operating a restaurant a few hundred feet from the museum. The menu is brief, mostly sandwiches, quiche, soup, or an omelette. We always have the last one, with wild mushrooms and a generous portion of fries. In all, one dish large enough for two. They also serve the makings of a mimosa, some beers and wine, in addition to coffees and teas. Service consists of lining up at the counter, placing your order, receiving a tray with a number, returning to your seat, and your food will be served fairly promptly, no matter how great the crowd. If you visit the museum, it's a nice place for a bite to eat.
